Hey folks,
My notes from the Big Day Out @ the Gold Coast: Iggy and the stooges:
Iggy was mental,
Iggy humped the bass rig,
Mike Watt has a mowie like boonie!
rollins was on the side of the stage grooving and singing along to the entire stooges set, unfortunetly he didn't get on stage with them,
they played i wanna be your dog twice??
Iggy wanted the audience to get up on stage but not many people really wanted to,
Iggy cut himself atleast two times during the set,
Iggy poured heaps of water over himself and wrecked a mic,
It was very muddy up the front,
they only played songs off the first two records,
the stage hands for the white stripes wore black suits and were standing in front of the stage watching th stooges.
Was anyone else there?
Also the white stripes were pretty good, take me out by franz ferdinand went off, the living end were good as usual, the power went off during mudvayne, gerling had really big beach balls, airborne were the ultimate in bogan rock, kings of leon were more rock than i was expecting, sarah blasko was good, and wolfmother were huge - everyone was there to see them - they are gunna get very high on the hottest 100.

The white stripes were very good lots of energy but their set was very short, probably only 50 minutes long.
Franz impressed me the most, wasn’t a really a big fan of them, but they played a awesome set, and got the crowd really going.
Shihad were that standard rocking self, I don’t think I have ever seen a shit live show from them.
Sleater-Kinney were good but weren’t as good as they were at the King’s arm the night before, and it didn’t help that the crowd wasn’t really into it.
My hat goes off to the Magic Numbers, my brother told to go see them as I have never heard of them, they had such a awesome summer sound, definitely have to pick up there cd next time I see it.

My Dad took me to see Iggy perform Fun House, with other hits either side of the performance. He did the stage thing during 'Real Cool Time' and everyone just went for it. Some guy next to me went from the middle of the venue to Iggy's feet in around 8 seconds, mental!!!
All I'd heard before that was the Raw Power album, but nothing off that. Still, insane night, best gig I EVER went to...
To Terryible: The Magic Numbers are cool aren't they? The album is pretty good, but live they are awesome. They tap so many distinctive sounds. I still love that distinctively Baba O'Riley-esque intro to 'Morning's Eleven'...
I may be boring but at least I'm not Jack fucking Johnson.
TV is such shit; let's go outside and ride bicycles, right now!
