Hey people, anyone out there ever get the chance to see Extreme live when they were around? I remember my sister used to have 'Pornograffitti' way back in the early 90s but never really heard much more of their stuff..

From memory it was pretty kool, kind of funkier rock with a few ballads..

So anyone here manage to see them live or has any more of their albums and briefly say what they're like?

Cheers :D

If they were a band that were just new now, i would hate them, lol.

I was like 10 when my brother got pornograffiti and i used to giggle cause it had porno in the title. At some point either me or him got 3 sides to every story, if you like pornograffiti you'll like the other.

Dont think i heard anymore though (if they did more). It was basically what you said, funk with some power ballads.

Nuno was my favourite guitarist next to Slash back in the day.

I actually heard recently that Extreme were getting back together cause all the other stuff they've been doing away from the band sucked. Cant remember where i heard that though.

haha yeah i wonder how they'd be received if they released that album nowdays :D

Yeah i remember seeing the centre booklet pic of the whole band in the whole tight leather pants etc haha. Nuno probably would've been the first guitarist I really took note of as well. :)

My first ever gig was Extreme :D I was 12 and in love with Nuno.

It was a really great gig and at the time I loved the music. Don't think I've listened to any of the Cds in 10 years though :o
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

I love Nuno and Extreme. Nuno's band Population 1 and Mourning Widows was awesome. Population 1 is now called Dramagods. I have really loved all of his work including what he has done with Extreme. I encourage anyone who has respect for Nuno to check out his other stuff. It is definately worth a listen!! Nice thread by the way!!

  • I saw Extreme open up for Bryan Adams at Wembley in 1992. I was twelve. It was amazing.

I saw Extreme open for Cinderella who was opening for David Lee Roth back in probably 1991 or 1992. I actually had 2 of their albums. They were ok. Then I also saw Gary Cherone front Van Halen III in concert. He definately did not fit there.

Mutha...don't wanna go to school today...

I used to be a huge fan ... raarghhhh Nuno!!!
Ever saw em live at a festival ... I remember it being a very lively, well played performance.
Dunno what happend to all the members ... Wasn't Gary Cherone going to be the next Van Halen singer?

I kinda lost interest after pornograffiti ... But they have made some great songs ... Definately the ballads!
RIP Syd ... Shine on you crazy diamond ...
