Just wondering what is a good starting point for this band?
Any suggestions on some cds?
Thanks
Things were different then. All is different now.
I tried to explain. Somehow.

I think It Still Moves is a great CD to introduce you to the band. Soon you will be celebrating their entire catalog. Oh, and this.

Edit: I agree with SVRD, I forgot about Okonokos.

I would start with Okonokos- the double live CD. You'll hear a mix of songs (besides the newest cd) and get to understand why they're so great live.

I agree...Okonokos gives you a good idea of what you will hear live (they still play a bunch of those tunes plus the Evil Urges stuff). It Still Moves is my favorite studio album.
  • I bought Evil Urges on a whim cause it was 10$ at Barnes and Noble. Its pretty cool and def sounds nothing like anything else in music right now.

  • Okonokos is where I tell everyone to start. A great selection of songs, which I always seem to think of in trios. Gideon/OBH/I Will Sing You Songs, Lowdown/Way That He Sings/WAWM, Lay Low/Dondante/Run Thru... I need to listen to that again. :p

But you can't go wrong, as far as studio albums go. At Dawn is my personal favourite, having thrown It Still Moves off the top a few months back.

    the Minions

Ha ha. I agree. But if you can't do it that way, start with Okonokos or Z. After that, It Still Moves and At Dawn. I love both of those albums, but they can be hard for some people to get into immediately.
  • I started with Z and then At Dawn.

    Go like this
    Okonosos
    Z
    It Still Moves
    Evil Urges
    At Dawn
    Tennesse Fire

I like At Dawn more then evil urges but i think going in that order will work best for you.

I'd go with Okonokos first. Once you listen to that, you'll wanna buy all the albums. MMJ are so awesome.
