louder than love and led zeppelin II

may be you would call it "hard rock", but its just straight up rock to me. I would list more but after that there would be so many: beatles - revolver, pearl jam - vs., pj - ten, alice in chains - dirt, led zeppelin - III, soundgarden - badmoterfinger and on and on, but i can put those two on top of it all (right now anyways)
bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown

louder than love just rocks like hell. I wish they'd used the original name though, Louder than Fuck.

My vote is Dirt by Alice in chains

Harmacy is a good album BUT Bakesale is a classic......I would also recommend Bubble and Scrape, III, and Smash Your Head On the Punk Rock

Sebadoh is basically Lou Barlow (who was the bassist with Dinosaur Jr). They started releasing albums around 1990 and were kinda the pioneers of the whole Lo-Fi indie scene. Basically they just make really good, catchy, heartfelt indie rock that ranges from the insanely beautiful to the really ugly/messy/noisy/dirty. Their albums can be a little uneven - kinda hit or miss BUT Bakesale is amazing from start to finish.

aside: Kurt Cobain was a big fan of the band.

If you want to check out some songs, I recommend these:

Smash Your Head....: Brand New Love
    III: Spoiled
Bubble And Scrape: Think(Let Tomorrow Bee)
Bakesale: Careful, Not Too Amused, Dreams, Skull, Together Or Alone
Harmacy: Crystal Gypsy, Beauty Of The Ride
The Sebadoh: Flame, Love Is Stronger
In my world everyone is a pony,
and they all eat rainbows and pooh butterflies!

I like the sound of that. I very nearly bought III last week but got some other stuff instead. I'll borrow one of their albums off my friend and see what they've got going, or maybe buy it if I see it used

Get BAKESALE - i guarantee you wont be disappointed

.....although Bakesale is kinda their "commercial" album - if you want something a little more out there, then try any of the other 4 mentioned

The White Album and Vitalogy for me.

  • Make Yourself

    &

    The Moon & Antarctica
If I could, think I would give in.
  • i would say from the 80s at least

let it be - the replacements & Doolittle - the pixies

90s is a bit harder, let me think..

In my book London Calling is the best rock album of all time. Nothin will ever beat it. Haven't a clue what I'd have as number 2 though.
I'll Ride The Wave Where It Takes Me
  • Beggars' Banquet - The Rolling Stones (just perfect... R&R at its best)

Led Zeppelin IV (yeh II is good but nowhere near as good as this)

Closely followed by London Calling, Ten, Who's next, LA Woman and Rust never sleeps

    Ten-Pj
