........I'm getting married in June and wanted to know if anyone has had a Pearl Jam Grooms cake made. I am open to suggestions of ideas. I'm thinking either Yield sign, Avocado, or the 45 insert. Haven't been able to find any pics on line.

Also we are going to have a ukulele player at our wedding. He's going to play Soon Forget (w.o lyrics) when my groomsmen and i come out, the wedding march when she comes down, and somewhere over the rainbow as we walk back down the aisle. it's gonna be pretty cool hopefully.

We had a traditional cake for the wedding, but I did have a "stickman" cake at my bachelor party..:)

We are having wedding cannoli, so I can't be of much help. Maybe they can arrange them to spell out Pearl Jam. :)
  • I had a Maker's Mark bottle as my groom's cake.

  • you could also do one of the picks, but my personal favorite is the yield sign, it's a nice size and shape, and great album :D

I just got married in July & really wanted to have a PJ cake. Yup...kinda silly, but I didn't care! Anyway, I had a "backup cake" already picked out and I just couldn't decide on a PJ cake. Too many options!!!! So we went with the backup...a really sweet replica of my takemine acoustic/electric guitar. They did an awesome job too!

My groom's cake was an IPod with the stickman in the window and Pearl Jam written underneath it. It came out perfect.

  • My groom's cake was a life size Redskins helmet with faceguard and everything and the DJ played "Hail to the Redskins" (twice). One of the few moments I actually remember from more or less a blur of a day--it goes by so fast!!

For a PJ groom's cake I do like the Yield sign, but using the design on the free sticker that came with the Yield LP.

  • I too had a grooms cake with the stickman logo on it..... apparently it tasted "better" than the actual wedding cake... go figure.

  • wtf is a grooms cake? what is this world coming too?

What about "3 crooked hearts" cakes? You could also have swirls all around them.

some couples choose to have a big white traditional wedding cake to satisfy the bride (cuz we love our ridiculous $1000 elegant wedding cakes :) ) and get a groom's cake that's decorated to how the groom wants it (like a football helmet or ipod) and flavored the way he wants it.

and that crooked hearts idea is so awesome, i think i'll use it in some way for my wedding cake! (if i ever get a date that is..)

usually a lot smaller than the wedding cake (bride's cake?) and i guess anyone could eat it, theres no real custom to it, it's just there to appease the groom, as that will probably be the only thing he's allowed to have input in during the wedding preparations :D i promise i'll allow my fiancee (if i ever get one) to have more input though. unless his ideas are stupid. :)

I just got married in May so this is what we did....My husband plays the guitar so I had a grooms cake shaped like a Fender for him which we ate as the dessert at the rehersal dinner. It came out really cool! Then at our wedding we had the traditional white cake for our guests to have for dessert. if we would have had both cakes at the wedding recpetion it would have been too much cake. Everyone loved the grooms cake! But yeah it's a total girl thing, most of the time the guys couldn't care less they are just looking forward to the honeymoon!! haha!
