Many don't like female singer's but yes because I am a chick I think it's empowering, so currently I've been into Flyfleaf and Paramore...anyone feel me?
If I could be anything in the world I would be your teardrop...I would be born in your eyes, live on your cheeks, and die on your lips.

I see those clips at the end of the shows & want to stab myself in the ear...so no.
I love Lacey

You might like Jakalope.

That's more like it.
I'm not interested in insulting anyone's musical taste - I'm just bummed when people state that they don't like many female singers.
A couple more I enjoy:
Kathleen Edwards
Tori Amos
Aimee Mann
PJ Harvey
Juliana Hatfield
Gillian Welch
Alison Krauss
Jenny Lewis (Yes, she's the singer for Rilo Kiley, but I love her solo album)
That should cover a fairly wide range of styles. I cant imagine listeners wouldn't like at least one of them.
I've been meaning to check out more of her stuff. I saw her open for My Morning Jacket and her set was very cool.
Here is a cool video of Jenny Lewis recording on the show Pancake Mountain:

One of the best female-fronted bands in the biz.
Also, check out some already mentioned like Neko Case (and the New Pornographers), Cat Power, etc. Feist is good. Check out Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Lucinda Williams, Heartless Bastards, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rilo Kiley (or Jenny Lewis's solo work for that matter), Bikini Kill, 7 Year Bitch, L7, Mary Timony (or Helium), Juliana Hatfield's first album, Sonic Youth, Morcheeba's 1st 2 albums with Skye Edwards, Bebel Gilberto, Beth Orton, Anoushka Shankar, Throwing Muses (or any solo Kristen Hersh solo album) just to name a few.
holy hell i love beth ditto's voice. "standing in the way of control" is ridiculously amazing i like to dance around to it at least once a week!
Nice list! I forgot about Beth Orton and Lucinda Williams.
And then there's Regina Spektor - I've had Begin to Hope for about a year, but I just got around to ordering Soviet Kitsch recently. It just arrived in the mail today - I'll give it a listen shortly in honor of all the talents women listed in this thread.:)
heh same here, i've met flyleaf like 5 times, and lacey recognizes me when she sees me, pretty cool considering how many people they must meet.
Great band, great ppl in the band, great message, but they need another album pronto (you can't rerelease the first one a 3rd time)
Shutterbug is my favorite Veruca Salt song.
For female-fronted bands, also try Guano Apes.
Have you checked out be your own pet?
Not exactly my thing.. in fact i did not like them at all but they are fronted by a young female lead singer and they make punk rockish sounding music. Perhaps you may like them more then i did.

I also love Pascale Picard, Cat Power and Feist!
I'm a fan! Like I said in my earlier post, I just received Soviet Kitsch yesterday. I'm loving it! Much better than Begin to Hope, in my opinion.
