I'm going to Live Earth in NJ w/ a fellow jammer. Anyone going and want to meet up? It will be a long day w/ a crap load of bands I don't care much about. Supporting the cause and want to see Police, Pumpkins and DMB.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

  • i wonder what proportion of people are going for the music / bands on show and dont give a fuck about the reason for the concert (and likewise for the bands playing), and how many people are flying and/or driving across their respective countries to go to a live earth gig. A load of bollocks if you ask me, these live
    gigs should be banned.

Yeah, I wondered that too, about the carbon footprint the show is going to cause. Seems a bit ridiculous (even though I'd have gone if I'd gotten tickets!)

I don't have to "travel", it's 40 minutes from my house. I would not have gone if it was far away.
So I take it no one gives a shit...That just surprises me.
I mean people wait all night in line for an iphone...an afternoon and night at a show seems like a much better way to spend time.

i'm not saying no one gives a shit, but are you saying people will only start to care if they go to a live earth gig? If history has shown us anything, in the long term these live
gigs never really change much, just a chance to look back for nostalgia

No but I will have to admit it's the trifecta for me. Live Aid, Amnesty and Live Earth. Nostalgia sure, but I really learned things from those outings. I went out and got involved. I don't feel "guilty" about supporting this show. I enjoyed being a part of the first two, so I don't see anything different here. I am not stomping around yelling about the destruction of the earth and my living space. I am just doing what I know how and feeling like I can make a difference to myself. I don't know why I have to explain why this is a good thing. Watching An Unconditional Truth should be enough for people to act and take their head out of the sand and contribute a little. Change a light bulb for shits sake and be done with it. It's not that hard.
