Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

  • I can't stand people who just drop their guitars to drop d and thrash about like a schitzo. That takes no talent. It's almost like playing guitar hero.

That guy in the first video looked like the biggest douchebag in the world.
The guy in the second video is the biggest douchebag in the world:D
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

The two videos are enough to turn me off guitar music forever. :p

  • The weird thing is, if you play your guitar too fast, it ends up sounding like Fred Durst anyway.

Those clips have ruined my day. Who the fuck is Fred Durst? No, I don't want to know.
  • Buckethead and John 5 can both do both.

I do like Buckethead, not sure about the whole image thing? But i enjoy listening to him play.
  • If you can play guitar that fucking fast, obviously your a virgin with no life.

Speed has never really impressed me, it sounds flash but I always associate with washed up guitarits from the 80's....

A few guitarists I like are Johnny Marr, Jose Gonzalez, Nick Drake and John Frusciante.....they really inspire me.....

    That's a cool fucking video!!

Now that I go back and watch that first video that the original poster posted... I'm even less impressed (considering I was never impressed to begin with). I'd like to hear that guy play without any distortion.. it would sound like complete shit!! I'm sure that guy spends all his time at guitar center showing off his "chops" to all the other speed freaks.

Speaking of Durst, what the HELL happened to him? I saw this today and there was a point in the interview where he completely went blank and acted like he didn't know they just talked about a tattoo of his... straaaaaaange. I am not a fan but I couldn't stop watching this train wreck of an interview:

I smile, but who am I kidding...
  • The guy in the first video is lightning fast, but it's been done. If you go to any guitar store chain on a Saturday there is usually a kid doing that kind of crap and they are A). alone... or B). With their Ride the Lightning shirt wearing, Big Gulp drinking friend who idolizes them. And, they usually look like the guy in the video, no emotion. Just a blank face. I'll take Lee Ranaldo or Thurston Moore any day of the week over a "shredder."

I double drop d, when I tire thrashing about like a schitzo I play a gentle eastern sounding arpeggio.

I'd say at least the shredder (wasn't he the ninja turtles adversary?) can play, albeit annoyingly. But this Durst gets paid to do that?
