So...Im not a metal head at all. Although I do like some heavier stuff. But Mastodon "Leviathan" is incredible. I saw them open for Clutch about 3yrs ago and was put off by the "speed metal/Screaming" I did not pay attention to the musicianship.

So I was reading some reviews on their albums and really dug the artwork and decided to try out their albums.

Although very heavy, fast and abrasive..It is unique and musically complex. The album is dynamic, powerful but beautiful at the same time. Very intresting stuff.

If your not put off by metal..I would suggest it highly.

Got it last week in preparation for them opening for the almighty Slayer next month in Seattle.. Haven't gotten a chance to listen to it all the way through yet, but what I've heard kicks serious ass.. And I'll be picking up the new one, whenever it comes out..
