STP Current Tour

So, I saw STP play to a half-packed crowd on Friday. I believe listless and lackluster were the most common descriptions of the show. Playing the greatest hits package and just going through the motions. Kind of sad really.
Oh well, free ticket.

its a shame bands like these cant be banned... just reforming for the money.

and STP have a greatest hits setlist? 4 songs = short concert.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I was never a huge fan of STP, never bought their records or anything, but they sold some 40 million albums and had something like 20 top 40 hits. Of course, I'm pulling all of this from a memory that I'm not even certain is mine, so...

I saw them saturday night, it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. They played in a 1500 capacity venue. The place was packed, both the crowd and the band were really into it. I got the tickets free but I would pay double the ticket price to see that show again. I was shocked at how good Weiland sounded. The rest of the band was great too. I had heard so many bad things about the shows that I though it was gonna be horrible. It was just a killer performance. I think people just want to rip on Scott because he's kind of an easy target. He did a great job at this show. I heard they were really good at Bumbershoot also.

Just seen them last Monday night. Their only show here in Oregon. I kept hearing these are hit or miss shows and I have to say this was the BEST rock concert I have seen all year! Scott blew me away! was dead on every track, was sober, energetic, fucking rocking the crowd non-stop! They played everything imaginable(I got the setlist, it's posted on myspace). Wasn;t sure I wanted to spend the $51.00 for this, but it was WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

I'm glad some folks are getting good shows. We didn't. One of my co-workers kids got backstage passes because they work at Cabellas and the STP guys (except Weiland) came in for fishing gear to kill the day. They hooked them up with all the gear and got backstage passes for it. Weiland didn't arrive until 2 hours after the opening band left the stage. We waited a LONG time.

Also, back stage I guess the other members weren't saying flattering things about Weiland.

I saw STP in Vegas back in June and they were outstanding!! That being said, they may have bitten off a little to much with a 70 city tour without any real breaks. I think any band would get burnt out by the end of that kind of run.

they had a break in Florida- canceled two shows (one was because of a tropical storm though ;) )

I saw them here on FLorida (Hollywood, Florida) and I had a blast! they sounded like they never were apart, i was a little afraid because i heard that was like a lottery, and that day i won!!! What a Gig! only behind Pearl Jam at West Palm beach (i only went to that one ) and Vedder at Chicago. But that's my humble opinion.

  • I honestly think they are not an arena band, the smaller the venue the better, I saw them in an arena and it was good but not great.

  • took them a bit too long to get their asses onstage, but i thought they were excellent at bumbershoot last weekend. the first three albums were some of my favorites in junior high/high school. it was great to hear those songs again. hadn't seen them in 11 years.
