  • I own all their CD's and have seen them twice in concert(y100 fez). One of my favorite bands. "Healthy in paranoid times" is only ok but no complaints.
The less you know, the more you believe.
  • I love OLP, never gotten to see them live though. I think Healthy In Paranoid Times is a great album, but not necessarily the best OLP album. It just seems that they sacrificed their unique sound for a more mainstream Coldplay-ish kind of sound.
  • When they first came out I didn't like them at all. But at the time I was really young and stupid and wasn't open minded to anything really. But when Gravity came out I got into them. I have all of their albums now. I really don't like Healthy In Paranoid Times though.
  • Healthy In Paranoid Times is a very inbetween album, Will the future blame us (especially) Al Genina, love and trust, angels losing sleep, picture, boy, dont stop are great tracks, but the others ruin it kinda for me.

I love spiritual machines, but I'm not a big fan of their naveed stuff.

  • Dig them alot, but thought "Healthy" was weaker. What did the liner notes say 43 different songs or something, lets hear the others. Maybe something got lost.

The only problem is that OLP developed their fanbase around the unique sound of the band. Coldplay is good at making commercial mainstream music, OLP is not and they should stick to their roots. Their past albums are more creative (lyrics, guitar riffs, you name it) and that is where they found their niche, not with songs like "Where are you" with lyrics of "this could be the best day of your life."

I hope the new CD is good. Always liked these guys.... but man I HATED Curve. Burn Burn didn't do much for me either now that I think about it.

I haven't listened to anything religiously after Gravity (2002.) I bought their Burn Burn vinyl just because it was there first time ever releasing their music on vinyl. I listened to maybe a couple tracks off Healthy In Paranoid Times and I don't think I've known anything off of "Curve." Which is sad really.... One of my favorite bands of all time is OLP. I honestly should check out their later albums. I'll tell ya though... they sure BROUGHT IT at this Calgary concert last week. Huge crowd, massive positive energy, some crowd surfing and a ROCKIN set with new and old tunes. They sure looked and sounded as awesome as ever!!!!!

  • I loved this band. After guitarist Mike Turner left it was over for me. Spiritual Machines was their masterpiece, I wish they would have kept going down that road and not hooked up with Bob Rock.

I recently read that drummer Jeremy Taggart left recently, they are a shell of the band they once were.
  • No mention of Happiness is not a Fish? I haven't listened to that album in a while but when I did I wore it out. I thought it was their strongest album with Spiritual Machines a distant second. Haven't bought anything since Gravity (which was weak).
