I just got back from their first gig in france for 10 long years and it was an incredible success.
it was just so obvious when I was watching them that they are a truly great band, one of the best in the world.
The new album "third" is a classic and deserves all the publicity it can get.
two good songs off that to listen to for starters are "hunter" and "we carry on"
are there any other portishead fans here?

Like 'em very much too..i love Beth Gibbon's voice..although i must say i'm glad that Portishead is back this is not their best album (not that you would expect that every new album will be the best one..i'm just saying)..it's an ok album comparing it to the other ones, but is by far better than much of the music that is getting radioplay lately.
