So, I have to admit I was damn skeptical about anything related to the new GNR and Chinese Democracy. Then, I heard a few of the new songs. Trust me, go to youtube.com, type in guns n roses chinese democracy and keep an open mind. They have some incredible sounding stuff. "Better" is my favorite right now, very different, very good. "Madagascar" is my other favorite...a bare, emotional ballad of sorts. If Chinese Democracy drops this year, I think it's gonna be a surprise. I think it's actually gonna blow a lot of people away.
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

I've been waiting on it as long as the next guy.....Axl has hyped it enough that if its the slightest bit medicre, then his career is done...he's got one shot with this album...a lot riding on his plate.

I'm not gonna spoil the album (whenever it decides to come out), and wait to hear it as a whole...although I have heard a live version of Madagascar a few years ago, and liked what I heard (was that on the VMA's or something???)

Axl sounds worlds better than he did at the initial resurfacing

Rose was very honest about the fact that after Appetite he did'nt want to keep making that record over and over - hence the Acoustic Lies - Then the Illusions were like a huge scrap heap of all material that band had worked on for years, with some new stuff too and the added dimension of the piano on certain tunes. Say what you will about the guy, his drive for originality and perfection at the same time is second to none, and based on the leaks so far, I have no reason to think this album will be anything short of fantastic

This sounds nothing like back in the day. Think of it as a whole new animal.
