I know this has been talked about before...

But it can't be said enough...

NICKELBACK JUST FUCKING SUCKS!!!

Our office radio station is just fucking terrible today and in the span of 3 hours they have already played at least 4 Nickelback tunes or songs that involve that annoying Hair Farmer Chad Kroger and his god aweful wretched voice.

The fucking station is programmed by our Montreal office and I have no way of escaping this douche bag and his voice that sounds like a constipated duck trying to squeeze out a turd.

Nickelback is easily the worst Canadian Export since Celene Dion.

Let me personally apologize to the United States for my countries tasteless sadistic tendency to unleash this mediocre horrible hack rock'n'roll upon the world.

We should have learned our lesson with Bryan Adams.

The aweful lyrics, The generic paint by numbers pop rock,

It's too much to handle.

Fuck Nickelback...And most of all Fuck The CRTC for forcing Canadian radio and the Canadian Music industry to support this processed can of spam of a rock band.

In a case like this, it is easy to blame the band for their sub-par efforts, but it's really the fault of the general public. After all, they are the ones that continue to buy the crap.

god yes. none of the rock stations in boston play them, but when I lived down south it was 24/7. Absolutely horrible.

Granted you have a point.

But in Canada we seem to have this Inherent false sense of patriotism towards this kind of stuff. It's almost as if we are force fed this garbage for the sole reason that it is "Canadian Music" and that we as "Canadians" are expected to support it for that sole reason. Our judgement has no solid foundation and it never seems to be based on the merits of musical qaulity or artistic qaulity for which we should judge all art and music.

Alot of our radio and music TV channels just crank out this shit by the volume and it's pathetic. It's just processed crap that is trying to mimic music that's already out south of the border.

It seems that we have our own Canadian replica of every type of American Artist.

We even have our own version of American Idol called (ready?) Canadian Idol...as if the American version wasn't bad enough.

What pisses me off the most is how we waste our time and money supporting bullshit like Nickelback Instead of promoting the really good bands from Canada that are actually very good and deserve more airplay because they are doing music that is both original and challenging.

It's worse in rural areas of Canada that only have like 1 rock radio station to feed from. They're brought up to believe that Nickelback is the biggest rock band in the world because the CRTC (Canada's broadcast regulation board) strictly enforces radio to play at least 70% Canadian content on their programing. Radio has to put bands like Pearl Jam (that have actually contributed something great to rock'n'roll) on the backburner in favor of shitty bland Canadian rock bands.

Our major media outlets are just stuck on force feeding bands like Nickelback upon Canadians as well as the rest of the world.

It just makes Canada look really weak when all that ever seems to break south of us is the likes of:

Avril Lavine
Nickelback
Barenaked Ladies
Celene Dion
Bryan Adams

While the really good stuff gets buried.

I agree but this has been a common practice in the record industry since...it began? Original and challenging doesn't sell, most of the time, which is why bands like Nickelback are given free reign to crank out the same sound.

Neil Young
Rush

and many many others...

What I'm refering to Canada's annoying habit of re-packaging and re-producing music that is popular in the States and molding Canadian artists to whatever flavor of the month is popular over there in the hopes that it can sell a boat load of records.

Not only does Chad Krogers voice just grate on my nerves...but just looking at that ugly smug pig fucker fills me with utter rage.

There was a calendar for General Motors in one of the latest issues of Rolling Stone Magazine. It was an obnoxious advertisment that you just couldn't avoid, and it had all of these shit musicians standing next to their favorite General Motors vehicle that they probably got as a gift for appearing in the ad.

Anyways...it has the members of Nickelback standing proudly beside a gas guzzling piece of shit monster pickup truck.

I mean...here we are in the middle of a gas situation where prices of petroleum are shooting through the fucking roof on a daily basis, leaving people strapped for cash, and unable to afford transportation to and from work and here are these mindless, ignorant, dickbags standing next to the epitome of this failed North American Auto Insdustry.

You see it's not just the the god aweful music that these clowns unleash upon the world...It's the whole attitude that they project that irritates me the most.

Yeah, I can't stand this band. I recall listening to a story on NPR about how a music fan exposed that their songs sound exactly the same. He played one song (How You Remind Me) and another song (Someday) at the same time and they sounded nearly identical.
