You could throw peanuts at the back of my head, that should be enticing enough to pull the trigger.

I'll be at the show since it's close by. Got really crappy seats because I did not find out until after the tickets went on sale. I know a few others from RM will be going.

I'll be there with the woman and my brother in law. Looking forward to it. Have an extra ticket due to a 'back-out', but hey, whatever.
Going on Wednesday night in Sayreville NJ too.
  • i'll be heading out that way. orch R row G.

i don't think i've ever been to reading. is there tailgating at this place?

I wouldn't miss it for the world, considering it's about a ten minute drive from my house. I got a second row seat in orchestra right, pretty sweet. I'm flying solo on this one like my last Cornell concert.

You could if you wanted I guess. You probably want to stay off the streets of Reading though. It's a massive shit hole.

But then again... it may be a toilet, but it's my toilet. :D

Too bad we can't meet up again. Oh well... I'm convinced that there's no way this show will be better than the TLA show anyway. That one was legendary!

    ....Slaves and Bulldozers.... :D

I never knew there was another 'boarder from Reading...I hail from the Sinking Spring/West Lawn 'hood...I guess we're pre-gaming at the Oyster...it'll be kindof a long/shady walk to the Perf. Arts Ctr. I manage a local band, The Suns of Ivy, who played the after-party for Alice Cooper there last Halloween and its a great venue, but the pre-gaming/tailgaiting is limited...unless you have a flack jacket...and yeah, toilet is a good description!

Yeah, I think you'll like that seat, right on the aisle, 2nd row.

    Review of Boston 7/24/07 show:

Setlist (not exact order but pretty close):

    Band instrumental (??) (w/out Chris)

    Let Me Drown (soundgarden)
    Outshined (soundgarden)
Show Me How to Live (audioslave)
    No Such Thing (new)
You Know My Name (soundtrack to Casino Royale)
    What You Are (audioslave)
    Rusty Cage (soundgarden)
    Wave Goodbye
Say Hello to Heaven (temple of the dog)
    Until We Fall
    Out of Exile (audioslave)

    Chris solo:

    Can't Change Me
    Billie Jean (Michael Jackson cover)
    Fell on Black Days (soundgarden)
    Like A Stone (audioslave)
Doesn't Remind Me (segue to full band) (audioslave)

    Chris and Band
    Cochise (audioslave)
    Spoonman (soundgarden)

    Be Yourself (audioslave)
    Jesus Christ Pose (soundgarden)

    Encore:
    My Wave (soundgarden)
    Seasons
    Sunshower
    Slaves and Bulldozers (soundgarden).

    comments:
venue was only 2/3 full with many empty seats in the good sections (corporate "no shows" perhaps?)

Chris's confidence in singing / voice exceeded even his previous Boston appearance.

"Say Hello to Heaven" and "Bilie Jean" were the show stoppers of the night. Cornell's command of the vocal deliveries on both were jaw-dropping. (I hope someone recorded this show!)

"Say Hello to Heaven" especially performed with shear perfection... rivaling the studio version..

Chris introduced "What You Are" & "Rusty Cage" noting "You deserve to be happy no matter who you are - here's two songs about that very thing"
Chris commented that "Out of Exile" referred to him being in a a major depression, isolated and having the birth of his child pull him out of that.

This setlist leaned more into the quieter / accoustic numbers, perhaps more than past shows?

(Can't Change Me, Billie Jean, Fell on Black Days -accoustic, Like A Stone, Seasons, Sunshower,Doesn't Remind Me)

But his band still hits hard on the classic SG numbers (My Wave / Jesus Christ Pose / Slaves)..

Its amazing that at this point in this long tour, Chris seems to be physically able to turn "on and off" both his "falsetto voice" and his "fiendish wail" *(aka "Slaves and Bulldozers") on command...without any repercussions to his voice.

Here's hoping we get some live audio or DVD released at years end to capture this chapter in his amazing comeback..!

Cool, I'm from the Wyomissing area. I'm not old enough to drink (legally), though, so I'll probably be skipping the pre-game. Look out for me at the venue though, I'll be wearing a cream-colored PJ shirt!

Funny thing was, after he kicked the beach ball sideways, I turned to my friend and said jokingly, "he's no David Beckham", and 1.2 seconds later Chris goes into his Beckham rant.
