Downbeat Song Recommendations

So I am currently in a kind of chilled out, melancholic mood at the moment. Give me any downbeat or laid back songs that you know and I will check them out. Genre is of no consequence, give me rock, pop, hip-hop, trip-hop or opera. If its a beautiful song and pushes my buttons, I'll be stoked. Thanks in advance, I will try and give a bit of feedback.

I like this song. What are some of his other good songs, in a similar mould.

    Prime Time Deliverance
    Fated
    So Long Mrs. Smith
    Advertising on Police Cars
    Tripoli
    Truffle Pigs
    Strange Days
    Born to Kill
    Sun up Running for Home
    Weapon
    Avalanche
    Flashdance II

Note: a few of these songs have studio versions and acoustic versions that have a very different sound.

These are a few along those lines. I hope you enjoy them. He has a whole catalogue of great music. If you are interested I highly reccoment the albums "Underdogs" and "Beautiful Midnight" to get you started. These dics contain a lot of the more downbeat stuff and upbeat stuff as well, either way the songwriting is always excellent.

I'd like to add "Hello Time Bomb" to the list. I just can't say enough good things about Matthew Good.

Can you narrow that list to 2 or 3 essentials?

    I'd be happy to

Prime Time Deliverance (studio version although the acoustic version is not bad)
    Strange Days
Fated (may be tough to find but it's worth it)

    Enjoy with my compliments!

most amazing melancholic folk/acoustic music you'll hear... well, for a long time. Singles 'Heartbeats' or 'Crosses' are a good intro.

It is hard not to love the greatness of the Matthew Good Band. The songwriting is among the best I've ever heard. I dunno it just speaks to me I guess. If I'm ever in Vancouver we can go for a pint and talk all things Matt Good :).

I really have no idea. I know that it's on an EP with 3 other songs called 4 Songs but I don't have it. I heard the song several times last year in Virginia on college radio and liked it but didn't know who sang it and forgot about it. Then I heard it on House, M.D. Tuesday night and looked it up on the Fox website and went and downloaded it. If you download it, make sure you get the full version because I got one version that's only 2 minutes long from the O.C. or something but the real song is over 6 minutes. Good song.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Cool..... Also, i think that song is pretty borderline copying "Pink Moon" which is one hell of a GREAT laid back tune!
