How come you get to list 20? :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

this is just off the top of my head, so it may not resemble my top 10 album list at all, but i'd still take these on vacation any time.

    1.pearl jam - yield
it makes me docile and reflective. sometimes you just need to lay back and chill and listen to yield. i know i do.
    2.pearl jam - vs.
it energizes me and helps to unleash pent up aggression. it's soothing if you will.
3.david bowie - the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars
i just can't live without my bowie. and i cannot go very long without listening to rock and roll suicide. come to think of it, i'd go with the live album, just so i can get some all the young dudes and white light white heat too.
    4. the beatles - sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band
i just plain love this album. and a day in the life is the third-best album closer EVER.
    5. led zeppelin - led zeppelin
it was tough to decide between this and iv, but ultimately i can't deny myself dazed and confused and good times, bad times while on vacation.
    6. the jimi hendrix experience - electric ladyland
can't live without jimi, not even while on vacation.
    7. soundgarden - badmotorfinger
it was tough to pick this over louder than love, but i had to. slaves & bulldozers is my favourite sg song EVER!
    8. wu-tang clan - 36 chambers
my requisite rap album. i'd probably actually take some underground stuff i've got, but then nobody would know what i'm talking about in this list.
    9. rush - 2112
i, too, am a priest of the temple of syrinx.
    10. pink floyd - wish you were here
do i really need to justify picking some floyd? this floyd especially needs no written reason while on vacation.

well fine, if you meant 20, then i've gotta come up with another 10:

    11. weezer - pinkerton
eventually i'd need some short catchy songs. this is where weezer come in handy.
    12. tool - ænema
    learn to swim.
    13. nine inch nails - the fragile
almost went with downward spiral, but this has the wretched. and i really don't need another super-aggressive album... do i?
    14. neil young - prarie wind
i took this out of my original 10, so i'ma put this hear. best album of 2005.
    15. temple of the dog - temple of the dog
can't believe i didn't think of this earlier. no explanation needed.
    16. singles motion picture soundtrack
the best soundtrack EVER! birth ritual, breath, drown...
    17. led zeppelin - iv
might as well take my favourite zeppelin too.
    18. house of pain - fine malt lyrics
you never know when you're gonna want to put on your shit-kickers and kick some shit and jump around.
    19. alice in chains - unplugged
i woulda done SAP, but i can't justify an ep that short.
    20. pink floyd - dark side of the moon
    why the fuck not?
