RATM - The Battle of Mexico City

So, like a hour ago I had my lunchtime and went to the record store, mainly because I wanted to buy a couple of tickets for a couple of concerts... obviously I can't resist taking a look around and I see the RATM DVD "The Battle of Mexico City", I thought "hmm... it's been a while since I haven't seen this one around and it's just about time to replace my old VHS tape, come on I was at this concert, I ought to have it on DVD"... I go and pay around $16 usd for it.
So, back at work I say, "let's see if I got a good deal, let's see amazon's price", and I just went there and to my surprise I find out this kick-ass dvd is out of print and is sold used for $50 usd... wow... sure I got a great deal, but I can't believe something this great is out of print, I mean it wasn't released that long ago, and the concert is just on fire. You can have an impression of how wild was this concert by watching the dvd, but man, being there was almost dangerous.... just before the concert there was people trying to slam down the doors to get in, so the security guys went there and shot them with fire extintors, the gas starts to get in the venue and it gets really bothering... then comes out RATM and put the whole place on fire, people bouncing, slamming, crowd surfing... soooo fucking intense... this is a dvd that just deserves to be able for anyone, it can't fucking be out of print... there'll be generations upon generations missing on an amazing document. Hope this mistake could be mended soon... in the meantime I got a great deal, and now have an original VHS to sell.

aw, ok, man, that's great!! Is just the amazon page I found first - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000517DY/qid=1140577034/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/104-3244240-0227969?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130 - only had it used by $50.
Anyway, the point is this was a great concert and is fantastic to have it on DVD, grab it if you haven't... the downer are the snipets of political stuff between the songs.. but I guess that was just part of RATM -even more at that time when we had a long and strong students' strike going on at Mexico's National University...

It looks as if they are two different DVD's. The one I posted is just the show, the other looks like it documents some of the goings on leading up to the show as well as some of the causes RATM was devoted to.
Well, if that's the case I'd say it's even better, because with all the appreciation I always had for RATM their political views... at least concerning Mexico... always seem to me like... let's say naive... I remember just before the concert they played this video about zapatistas that may be fashionable for kids anxious of having a revolution -not so different to having a party for them- but that just left so many circumstances out of it, that it was hard to take seriously if you really knew what was going on... maybe attractive for a tourist, but not for a critic well-informed Mexican... the music, that was just flawless.
