Doesn't look like he is doing anything diff to his hair. In 03 you could notice his sides receding, which happens to virtually all men after 30, but his hair looks the same as 06, maybe even a little further recession if anything.

For being 40, his hair is still in good shape. Think Axl,, Mikey Stipe, and Elton John (since the 70's even).
