Well he does seem to get lost in the music, whipping that head about while ripping his guitar. He probably gave himself a case of vertigo and forgot which way was up.

    Hope he's okay.

Does MMJ have the bright lines marking the edges of their stage setup? If they didn't before I bet they start using them now.

I think Pearl Jam just started using them after Ed fell off the stage at the Cleveland show in 2003.

It amuses me that MMJ is only playing shows to 2-8 thousand people this tour and yet they've got MSG booked for New years. Does anybody know how well tickets have been selling? I know I'm flying cross country for it and it's sure to be amazing!!

Hope you're all good Jim! that stinks

  • I'm assuming he wasn't wearing the cape, because if he had he would have just ended up flying off the stage. Jim James is superhuman, after all.

My Morning Jacket singer released from hospital

IOWA CITY, Iowa - My Morning Jacket singer-guitarist Jim James has been released from the hospital after being injured in a fall during a concert at the University of Iowa.

A Cedar Rapids newspaper reported that James slipped and fell about 30 minutes into the show Tuesday night. The Gazette says James apparently hit his head in the fall, which happened between songs.

The rest of the concert by the Southern rock group was canceled.

I didn't. Can you actually get sales figures and projections on TM online? I was unaware if so.

Other than that i'm sure there are tickets left but I've not checked since i already have some

  • I'm incredibly bummed. I was really looking forward to seeing him at the Obama benefit tonight and the Chicago shows this weekend.

But most of all, here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery. Get well soon, Jim!

Was at that Cleveland s how too. That was scary too. THat's a good drop, especially when you aren't ready for it.

    Chicago Shows Postponed

As some of you may have heard we had to cancel our show last evening in Iowa City. We were finishing up the last few bars of "Off The Record", and just like any other night we were all having a great time. Jim went to get closer to the audience on his side of the stage, and as he moved forward to step onto the sub-woofer the lights darkened, and he inadvertently stepped off the stage. Upon falling, he suffered traumatic injuries to his torso, and was immediately taken to the hospital. Per the doctor's orders, Jim will be off the road and recovering from his injuries for the next two to three weeks. Sadly, we must postpone the two shows in Chicago on Thursday and Friday until further notice.

For those who attended the Iowa City show, we would like to extend our gratitude for your understanding and cooperation. We take our fans and performances very seriously, and would never cancel a show unless it was absolutely necessary. Please know that we will be making every effort to return to your fine city.

Thank you so much to our fans for the kind sentiments and well-wishes on Jim's behalf. We hope for Jim's quick recovery and to be back out on the road soon.

    With Love,
    My Morning Jacket

  • Chicago shows have been rescheduled for December 27-28.

If anyone has decent seats for the 28th that they can't use, I'd be interested.
