I'm writing and taking photos for a magazine this year so I have to pay attention to all the new, up and comers on side stages. Just wondering if anyone has any bands they are really looking forward to.
My list so far is:
Back Door Slam (saw them at SXSW)
Sigur Ros (not so much new, but I love them and never saw them live!)
State Radio (great ska feelings to their alt rock!)
Adele!!! (if you haven't heard her voice yet, go listen to "Chasing Pavement")
Robert Randolph (fellow jerseyite, so glad people are finally catching on!)

What do I need to add to my schedule??
rock bands may come and rock bands may go...
but rock n roll will live forever! - ray davies

    Superjam
    Iron & Wine
    Robert Plant & Allison Krauss
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut
  • IF I was going...I'd be super fucking psyched to see...

You are ready to get into it by noon on Friday and everyone will be out there so I suggest skipping the Drive By Truckers (even though they are great) and checking out: Steel Train The Other Tent. Fantastic jam band that is just happy and fun.

    Bluegrass Allstars
    The Raconteurs
MMJ (they will blow people away after Metallica)

    Saturday:
Donavon Frankenreiter (easy, good feeling guitar rock)
    Little Feet (go dance)
Levon Helm (As much as I like Ben Folds, Iron and Wine and it would be cool to see BB King, I wouldn't miss this guy in the OTHER TENT.)
Phil Lesh (you will see some happy people at 4:00 AM)

    Sunday:
    YMSB
    Derek Trucks
Widespread Panic (I wouldn't miss this. They might have the dirty dozen brass band with them which is always fun.)
