    up to yesterday i had:

    bringing it all back home
    highway 61
    blonde on blonde
    blood on the tracks
    desire (my first dylan album)
    love and theft

i am fucking blown away by freewheelin'

I've got the lot. And then some. I'll also state that John Wesley Harding is a quiet masterpiece. It's not as evidently wordy as the albums that preceded it, but for its economy, it's in many ways a much more mature body of writing, steeped in allusion, myth and image.

I love some Spoon songs, but then I HATE a number of them as well. I think I'd rank Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga as one of my favorite albums of the year if it wasn't for "The Ghost of You Lingers," "Eddie's Raga" and "Japanese Cigarette Case." The thing is, I don't just dislike these three songs - I cannot stand them. For me, they ruin what could be a fantastic album. I have similar feelings about Gimme Fiction, but I'm not willing to give up on Spoon quite yet - and I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to see them live

Oh . . . and I can't think of a band with a sound like Spoon's. I guess quirky, funky pop rock is a fair description (of the two CD's I own, anyway). I know they're pretty popular with Wilco fans, but I wouldn't exactly say they have a similar sound. Sorry I'm not of much help in this area.

ANYWAY, I'm obsessed with two albums right now: The Dirty South by Drive-by Truckers, and The Electric Magnolia Company by Songs: Ohia. So sad I'd been putting off buying albums by both. I need more ASAP!

Right now I'm addicted to the albums (What's the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis and Siamese Dream by the Pumpkins. Amazing albums from start to finish. I really wish I checked these guys out earlier, but I just never got around to it.

Mars was a real struggle for me, i knew i'd like them, they have all the ingredients i like, but each time i tried i just didn't get it.... ....then BAM!! it clicked. the same happened with me & tool, who i eventually came around to.

the key to unlocking their godliness? weed. & lots of it.

Try At The Drive-In with former members from Mars Volta, it is more easy to digest. In their "Greatest Hits" This Station Is Non Operational (named quoting a part of One Armed Scissor's chorus) they feature the cover This Night Has Opened My Eyes by The Smiths..really nice. This band was in my honest and humble opinion totally underated.

I remember buying the fall of math a couple of years ago. I stopped the record after 10 minutes, one of my worst purchase. Is the more recent stuff better?

On topic, I put on the 22-20s record (s/t, the only one there is) yersteday, hadn't in a long time. Really good blues rock band, kicks some ass. Try listening to "devil in me" or "such a fool" if you have the opportunity!
