I just heard psycho killer for the first time this year too. Now its on constantly at home.
Shortly after I heard the song for the first time, i had a frind visiting who plays bass guitar with me sometimes, and he busted into Psycho killer out of the blue - I was in heaven.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

One of the originals from the NYC/CBGB punk scene, their sound is very eclectic, to say the least. Influences include Brazilian and African musics. Rent the DVD 'Stop Making Sense,' directed by Jonathan Demme, of 'Silence of the Lambs' fame. A great way to introduce oneself to them.

About 6 years ago I arrived home and my wife asked me if I wanted to go to the Bracknell Southill Park festival that night. This is a local event, nothing huge, just a bit of fun. She asked me if I'd heard of David Byrne because that was who our friends were going to see there that night. I couldn't believe it, off we went and watched him at this strange venue. He was brilliant, interacted with the crowd, had local kids on stage juggling during one of the songs, 2 young girls ballet dancing during another.

It was an awesome show, one of the best I've ever seen.

  • I'm going to see David Byrne in November in Pittsburgh. Anyone ever see him live? I watched the stop making sense Talking Heads DVD and hope it's ridiculous like that.

If you saw him, how do you describe his live show?

Not sure if you've heard any of the newest stuff he just did with Eno, but it doesn't sound like salsa, I just saw him a couple of weeks ago here in Austin at the Paramount and he was great. Check out the link.......

Byrne's playing a shitload of TH stuff this tour, it's called the "David Byrne sings the songs of Byrne & Eno" tour which means stuff off More Songs, Fear of Music and Remain in Light, as well as their two albums together. I saw him at ACL Fest (the day after the Paramount show) and it was awesome. The new album with Brian Eno is a lot more poppy, too. Some great songs.

I wish I had seen the Paramount show though, cause he apparently played Heaven, which is one of my favorite songs ever.
