RIP Syd Barrett, although Pink Floyd made better music without him.... he started the band....so a sad day for Pink fans of any of their musical era's
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Truly saddened here…

Man, I wish I was old enough to have seen Pink Floyd back in the 60’s.

You can check out Sid Barrett’s Pink Floyd by buying or renting the DVD “Pink Floyd London 1966/1967.”

i am so fuckin sad, ...let´s play some syd´s music very loud today....
  • My nephew told me this weekend that Syd died on Saturday. The news wasn't announced until today, so I didn't post anything on the subject until now; plus, I was hoping it was just a rumour.

It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here
And I'm much obliged to you for making it clear
    That I'm not here.
And I never knew we could be so thick
And I never knew we could be so blue
And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes
And brought me here instead dressed in red
And I'm wondering who could be writing this song.
I don't care if the sun don't shine
And I don't care if nothing is mine
And I don't care if I'm nervous with you
I'll do my loving in the winter.
    And the sea isn't green
    And I love the queen
And what exactly is a dream
And what exactly is a joke.

    terrific song
    r.i.p. syd

i'm very sorry to hear that. I'm a huge Syd fan. I've got his boxset of solo material and everything. very influential despite his short career in music.

another great thing about Syd's music I've always thought is that it's the kinda of stuff you can play for children. I know if I ever have kids I'll be spinning songs like Scarecrow and See Emily Play for them. he appeals to everyone from toddlers to stoned off their ass hippies.

I remember buying Piper at the Gates of Dawn my freshman year of high school and really dug it because it was so unique. I own everything the guy has ever released.
He was one of a kind. It's too bad he got messed up with LSD.
