    OMFG!!!!
“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. There will be men beside me, and the important thing is to be a man among men and to remain a man always, whatever the misfortunes, not to despair and not to fall - that is the aim of life, that is its purpose.”

  • Wow, I've heard IRS, it was leaked a while ago. Maybe since I'm bracing myself for a bad album, that's why I'm not too excited.

While their live shows seem to be sketchy and the line-up is ever changing, the leaked stuff I've heard is quite good.

Hey man I saw them in december and despite the increibly long wait for them to go on it was a pretty good show, bonus points for Helmet opening, however having sebastian bach there negated all of those

With increased live performances and leaked songs, I'm becoming less skeptical.

Although, after it's released, there will be a feeling of "Now What?".

Axl Rose may be the biggest asshole in rock but he's also the most talented asshole in rock. If you've heard Better, TWAT, The Blues, Madagascar, and IRS you know that "Chinese Democracy" is going to easily be the best album released this decade.

MAn. who is falling for this ?? Isn't there anopther thraed here with a big press release from Axl and then a relpy from his manager saying that scheduling the erlease was premature, and screwed everybody up, and no more work got done on teh album.
Chinese Democracy, guys, think about it, a perfectly named album. An oxymoronic concept, a theoretical contradiction, cos a true contradiction cannot exist, therefore this album will never exist.
    Music is not a competetion.

it was a pretty good show. and yes, sitting through sebastian bach's set was like watching a train wreck. he even took the time to bitch about how much he hates ted nugent. yeah... because everyone cares.

i saw axl at MSG both in '02 and '06. the '02 show was a little better in my opinion, but at least on the '06 tour he actually played a few dates besides new york... you gotta give him credit for that.

i'm still undecided on the new songs that i've heard. it kinda sounds like GNR, but there's definitely a large void where slash's guitar used to be. we'll see what happens... eventually...

  • The most exciting thing about 'Chinese Democracy' is the fact that it doesn't exist. It'll be a dead duck within hours of it's release.

For a good example of internet and fan hype dying out as soon as the actual product hit the market, look no further than 'Snakes on a Plane'. Does anyone care that this movie was ever made now?
I've got to admit, it's getting better.

GNR era till 1992 was good - they had good songs...but now? How can you be excited for that crap...I really think it's crap. Just like Velvet Revolver...man, what a bad show I've seen at some festival...Honestly, I liked GNR back in the days...but now I'm :(

Imagine PJ in 10 years, split up and starting all new kinds of bands? I don't want to hear to that stuff...

I listened to the new songs wanting to dislike them, but honestly, they are good.

Madagascar reminds me of something from the Use Your Illusions days. Plus, IRS is a great track.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like what Axl has done to the band, but the music is still good.

  • hmv is not reliable. they have been posting pre-orders of chinese democracy since 2004. they are just speculating. Don't hold your breath. If it was official, you would not see it for the first time on some uk hmv site.
