whoever said that rap was all "money and bitches" these days? admittedly, pretty much all mainstream rap is these days but there is some amazing stuff out there if you look for it. is anyone on here a fan of Immortal Technique? he's a sort of socialist political activist rapper but a lot of his stuff deals more with street life as well as his more political stuff. You would have a hard job finding a more powerful rap song than "Dance with the devil". It's pretty harsh listening but he doesn't hold back. I would say if you like early Nas (Illmatic etc) then you'll probably like Immortal Technique.

i've been listenind to "underground" rap for quite some time now. That mainstream stuff is bullshit. I agree that immortal tech is a raw ass rapper but i don't think he sounds one bit like early day Nas stuff.

  • Immortal Technique is the only rap I will listen to.

Regardless of the genre, I like my music to have substance.

He's a pretty bugged out guy, that's for sure. He's definitely something different, but a little extreme for my liking. Overall, he's pretty good and worth checking out. Anyone who's into 9/11 conspiracy theories should give his song "Cause of Death" a listen. I think it's up at his myspace.

I just think his use of sampled pianos and stuff sounds a bit like some of the tunes on illmatic and I hear similarities in their voices. When a friend first played me Dance with the devil I thought it was Nas. I'm far from a Nas expert though.
