Cat Power

I know there have been threads before but I haven't seen any for a while and frankly I don't care, I wish to express my love for Chan Marshall again with a dedicated thread. Opinions on her albums, experiences of live shows and youtube video posts are all welcomed and expected

Truly beautiful song.
Unbelievable song.
Totally. The vibe she creates in that song is just so haunting...
I appreciate what Chan does, but I don't find myself listening to her often. There's a painful beauty to her work that I find hard to digest unless I'm in just the right mood.
and before you accuse me of havin alterior motives, i only realised recently that eddie did backing vox on it! i was not swayed by him
her music fascinates me. it haunts me.
"metal heart (2008)" is one of my favorite songs of the moment...it's so emotional. i could listen to it on infinite repeat!
Probably my favorite female singer at moment. The Greatest is one of my favorite albums.

but rock n roll will live forever! - ray davies
I'm off to see her next week with him in Birmingham and I can't wait. I absolutely adore 'The Greatest' and I really hope she plays 'Willie', 'Where is my Love' and 'Lived in Bars'. I'd like to see 'Fool' from You are Free and 'They Tell Me' from What Would The Community Think but looking at recent setlists I don't think it's gonna happen... :(
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
