It's already starting to get that Autumn feeling in Minnesota and I was just thinking about songs that remind me of Autumn. Does anyone have any good Autumn songs?

i was thinking of making a post like this the other day. autumn is the season that i associate with certain music the most. i live in massachusetts and the fall atmosphere is so strong here with the red leaves, the crisp air, and all that other stuff. anyways, off the top of my head, ryan adams and some of neil young's more acoustic stuff remind me a lot of autumn. especially ryan adams' whiskeytown stuff.

maybe if i have time i'll make an autumn playlist and post it here.

I completly agree with Neil Young's Acoustic stuff, Harvest Moon especially. love that autumn feel to it

I spend ages creating mix cds (i know i'm sad) of songs that fit that autumn 'mood'.

    Here's some of my favourites:

    Seasons - Chris Cornell
    Iris - Live
    Mr Jones - Counting Crows
I got Shit, Crazy Mary - Pearl Jam
MY Winding Wheel, Sweet Illusions - Ryan Adams
    Night Swimming - REM
Crime Scene Part One - The Afghan Whigs
Rotten Apple, Nutshell - Alice in Chains
In the Sun - Joseph Arthur
Potato Girl - Our Lady Peace
    Dollar Bill - Screaming Trees

oh! autumn is my favorite season and i love making autumnal compilations. but the number one autumnal soundtrack is anything by elliott smith. anything. he personifies autumn.

i can't wait until it gets a bit more fall-like here!

there must be something to it, Our Time in Eden is the first CD I reach for in Autumn. I love Noah's Dove.
  • Sparta really gives me that kind of dreary mood, and when it's a wet autumn day out, Wiretap Scars gives me the best autumn feeling.. another one would be Hail to the Thief... that cd just rocks during the autumn, and I'll leave off with White Blood Cells (White Stripes) as another.
If I could, think I would give in.

Dude, it's freaky how many of my picks are in that compilation! I may in fact burn that list to cd, looks wicked. I'm particularly impressed with the show of appreciation for Iris by Live - an amazing song, gotta love that ending when the drums go mental with Ed's singing over the top, gives me goosbumps everytime.

That song reminds me of the guy I thought I was in love with, whom I met in autumn. The time was set for leaving, come a cooler season...

Here is one by a local band. If you click on the song title you should be able to get to a page that lets you listen to a 30 sec. sample of the song.

    Collapsis - October

Pumpkin seed gonna get you soon.
    Cous cous, kitchenware, attitude...
Nothing more than an acorn shell.
    Yeah this is my October.
    Shadow me accordingly.

Nothing more than a bit too fast.
Fall down, hit the ground, not meant to last.
Nothing more than a need to yell.
    That this is my October.
    Let me die.

Since I've been running out of empty,
All I have is candy bars
    And costumes to defend me.
    You say,
"We used to taste so sweet."
    Do I look like candy?
    Do I look like candy?

    Pumpkin gonna get too quick.
Cous cous, kitchen wear, I'm full of shit.
And nothing more than a need to yell
    That this is my October.
    Shadow me accordingly.

And I never thought we'd break this ground.
Fall down, hit the ground, don't make a sound.
It's been nothing more than a big cheep thrill.
Yeah yeah this is my October.
    Let me die.

Since I've been running out of empty,
All I have is candy bars
    And costumes to defend me.
    You say,
"We used to taste so sweet."
    Do I look like candy?
    Like candy
    Like candy
    Like candy

Ya, da, da, da'm gonna die
    Yeah this is my October
