So I went to get my hair styled in Darlington today where I was born, an live just a short trip away from now and is also somewhat of a tiny shithole.
Turns out that I see posters scattered round the windows in the town centre that Nine Black Alps are playing in a small club there tonight called Inside Out tickets for £5.50 about $11 for you americans out there.:)

WTF this the band who has just turned out their second asnd can i say very good album on Monday, playing tiny shit hole in darlo and tickets going for peanuts.
The world has gone backwards needless to say I picked a pair of tickets up and am gonna get some shit from the missus for it but this is an opportunitty not to be missed, what a week Arcade Fire on Monday and now Nine Black Alps in a small club tonight!!! I'm psyched as fuck!:D:D:D

Cool man. They aren't really popular over here in the states but I'd love to see them if they came over and played a small venue in Philly or something. They have a great sound, although granted some of their songs are throwaways.

    How's the new album?

I don't rate them to be honest. They aren't very original or groundbreaking, and they only really have one sound.

Seen them live before and they were decent enough, but nothing to get excited about.

But hey, if you get to see a band you love in a small venue, great. :)

  • I like them. Granted they're not very original but at least they don't sound like the view or the kaiser chiefs lol. They're a lot better than a lot of the crap out there.

It's good, the songs are a bit slower paced and longer than on the first album, I suppose you could say it's more mature, but they still have a lot of the grungy distortion going throughout and whilst you're all right in saying their not original, they aint excactly like any of the other British bands around at the moment neither which is a very good thing.:)

Plus £5.50 a ticket? £11 for the pair, you cant really complain at that price, it cost me over £50 for the pair of tickets to se the Arcade Fire.:)

  • These guys are a great live band, I saw them opening for Wolfmother and I gotta say they were better than the headliners.

They rocked fucking hard, not even a hundred people at the show, we were right at front next to a massive speaker and amp and my ears are still ringing now awesome show, nowhere near as good as Arcade Fire though.:)

I seen them at The Soundhaus(also tiny club/nightclub)in Northampton earlier on this tour.Second time I have seen them(Reading Festival 05 which made me buy their debut album).About 150 there maybe which is bizarre when you think bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, The Enemy,The Kooks and even The Twang(how shit are they!)play to sell out crowds!

I like them, and yes they are not original(who the hell is)but Sam Forrest CAN write a tune and they are solid live IMO.
Nipped outside for a ciggy while the support were on and Sam Forrest is out there having a roll up.Chatted for about 10 mins and so unassuming most people obviously didn't have a scooby who he was? Incidentally his 2 favourite/most influential artists are Sonic Youth and Neil Young.
