**OFFICIAL 2009 Fan Club Only Show Petition**

So my fellow Ten Club friends after hearing about the PJ Newcastle Petition http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB3gj1lZ1Q0 and with the overwhelming demand on this board I feel like this thread is overdue. I'm hoping we can use it to talk about different ideas regarding a fan club only show (maybe a tour?) in 2009. My idea is to have a Ten Club members only show somewhere in the Midwest where we could all congregate. Perhaps in large stadium or park with enough capacity to accommodate every member wanting to attend. If you don't live in the US maybe an Australia show, Canada show etc. This is only one idea I had perhaps yours is better? Now "With our two hands" lets make our voice heard and show the band our loyalty and desire so we can make this happen! :)

  • i think the northeast has the highest concentration of PJ fans so it would only make sense to have it here.

I am not in favor of this

music should be shared by everybody

its not something that should be limited to members of a dues paying club

    I vote nay

Keep the tradition of Fan Club shows in Philly and make it the last ever concert at the Spectrum. Now THAT would be epic.

im with you get right. plus at the vic half the people there had the ten club entitlement factor and decided that they wanted to be on the floor and they really didnt care that some people had waited 7 hours in the scorching heat. and there is always those who try to prove how big of a fan they are and that gets annoying quickly. the small club thing was awesome but so was lolla with the gathering of everyone and anyone to just come hear some jam

I'm on your side. If they want to give us a Fan club gig... great.
I believe a Fan Club Show should be given by the Band... not asked for by the Fans.

I am for it. But, wasn't the summer tour mostly fan club members? The venues were smaller.

And anyone can join tomorrow does that mean they are more or less of a fan. How would it work? Just asking.

How would a fan club-only show differ from the recent MSG shows? Some members would get close seats (just like the normal 10C ticket sales), and the rest would have seats farther back (as if they bought them from Ticketmaster).
  • I'll let the band figure out all the details, but how could I not sing on for a 10c only show!
    Uniondale. 2003
    MSG 1+2. 2010
    Wrigley. Brooklyn 2. Hartford. 2013
    St. Louis. Denver. 2014
    Global Citizens Festival. 2015
    MSG 2. Fenway 2. Wrigley 1. 2016
    Safeco 2. Missoula. 2018
  • i can guarantee that if they did this, no matter what the circumstance or where or how it'd happen, there'd be a TON of people bitching.

    it'd be sheer bedlam.

which is why they should just do it in san francisco, cuz it's closer to me, fuck everybody else :D muahaha

A better idea would be to webcast a tour for free for the fanclub and pay per view for others. NO biggie for those who go to every show but would be cool for those who only do 2 or 3 shows.

Ha! No seriously I think we need a fan test. And seats should be given out accordingly. And we need an oath too.

i'm thinking more like a gladiator-type fight event, weed out the weaklings. i.e. if you can't rattle off the lyrics to all of vitalogy you get fed to a lion. or a housecat. or something.

And just to clairify my opinion on this. I am all for it for obvious reasons (crowd energy, setlists full of rarities, etc.) but as much as I loved being at the Vic, I didn't like the fact that so many people got shut out. So if they do this again, I would like to see it a venue that can at least hold 10k.

exactly my point-what is the rationale behind a 10c only show anyway
just as many a-holes in the club

I dont want them playing football stadiums like the dead used to do every summer

but a nice 15-20K arena is perfect for PJ

unfortunately, it will never happen thanks to TM and LN

I think the OP would like to have more GA shows and get closer to the band

Hearing about 10c only shows just leaves a bad taste in my mouth since I was one of many Chicagoans who got shafted when it came to tickets. We all lived like less than 2 miles away from the Vic, and none of us got in. Sigh.
So if they ever do a 10c only show again, I think it should be in a stadium so more people have a chance.

How would a 10c-only show magically fill a stadium when the band wouldn't be able to fill a stadium for a regular show?

Would people flock to the show just cuz it was a fanclub gig?

Sorry if I sound like a gloomy gus...I guess I look at things too rationally!
