You need win.rar to extract the files, you can get it for free of pretty much any software site, only takes a few secs to download.

Just listened to the Album all the way through. I'm kinda torn at this point. It doesn't grab me the way By the Way and Californication did. Maybe it's too much to digest at once. It's streaming at VH1.com right now.
    NERDS!
  • it's just way too long. there's some good stuff on the album, but the ballads tend to sound the same after listening to that many by the same band. if they were to trim this down to about 18 songs, leaving most of the funk tracks on there, then this would rank with their best. i'll probably just burn myself an alternate copy with fewer songs on it
  • As a huge Chilis fan, I have to say that this album is a bore. It sounds exactly the same as By the Way, and that was by no means brilliant.
I know exactly what kind of direction they are going in... a circular one. Bring back George Clinton as producer!
  • How is this even remotely close to by the way? Totally different.

Gotta agree with you there. There's a good mix of songs that should keep everyone happy, old and new fans alike.

Been listening to SA all today. BTW didn't grab me at all, but I like this. The album is guitar solo CRAZY. This is very much Frusciante's guitar-hero album. At least half the songs are amazing, and the other half are kinda good, but take-them-or-leave-them at the same time.

I think I'll be making my own one CD mix after a few more repeated listens...

my favourite songs off Jupiter after a few listens: Dani California, Stadium Arcadium, Hump De Bump, Strip My Mind, Escpecially in Michigan, Hey.

'Hey' is a great great song...

it does have a whole helluva lot more funk than Californication & By The Way though.

For my money it's quite a nice blend, but they would have been better off trimming it down to one CD. I guess we can't complain too much though as everyone can mix their favourite CD from the 28 songs, rather than relying on what the record company wanted or what RHCPs thought was best... now we all can choose
  • Frusciante dominates this record. Therefore it's amazing.

I didn't think much of the album on first listen, it's alot to take in, and I thought it was bland for the most part. But now that i'm more familiar with alot of the better tracks, it's pretty cool, I still think one disc - 13-15 of the better tracks, would have been much better though. Sometimes things can get overly dragged out, like the Foo fighters double, alot of the acoustic stuf was dull and lifeless.
All my favourite singers have stolen all of my best lines.

:eek::eek: I personally thought the accoustic disc was a lot more interesting than disc 1, I felt disc 1 was pretty much more of the same as the last three Foos albums.:)

    Snow
    Charlie
    Stadium Arcadium
    Hump De Bump
    Torture Me
    Especially In Michigan
    Wet Sand
    Hey
    Desecration Smile
    Readymade
Animal Bar ( This one is totally flying under the radar and is perhaps the best on Mars)
    So Much I
    Storm in a Teacup
    Turn it Again
....These are just the really great songs, there are a lot of other good songs. My only criticism is I don't like Hard to Concentrate and wish there was a better closer than Death of a Martian. Hey closing out Jupiter is fantastic, don't really like the spoken word stuff on Martian...Venice Queen might be impossible to top no matter what they do.

Whoops... how could I leave out Tell Me Baby

Venice Queen would take something special to beat it as a closer, one of my fave Chili tracks of all!:)

Initial thoughts: highly listenable but lacks any real stand out tracks.

I have only listened to it once, mainly bc I cant stop listening to PJ but we will see in the upcoming weeks- its a lot to take in.

First time I have ever downloaded a leak of any album. I think it's really good, a breath of fresh air. Frusciante definitely shines. My favorites so far are "Wet Sand" and "Animal Bar." Yeah it probably should have been trimmed down a tad but maybe some of the songs I'm not feeling yet or anyone else isn't feeling will grow and we'll be glad then that they added all these songs.

Had time to listen to disc 2 now, I'm liking it, She's Only 18 and Especially In Michigan are my fave tracks so far.
It's fairly straight forward which was what I was excpecting really.:)

Well I got this album in the post on Saturday and I have to say, despite people telling me it wasn't all that great, I really do love it. Disc 2 is def my favourite at the moment. Very chilled out in parts which I love and the band seem to be better than ever in my opinion.
My advice to anyone, is to check it out for yourself, rather than listen to other people's opinion though.

The artwork actually looks better than the pictures that were posted on the net, the colours dont look as bold, a lot more subtle, still not fantastic but I think I can get used to it now.:)

Aside of some weaker songs, I dig most of both discs. Of course people will whine about it lacking funk. Don't listen to it then, is my simple advice. Whining seems to be cool nowadays.

OK I downloaded it last week and have been listening to it a lot. First listen I was pleasantly surprised after the truly appalling "By The Way". Thought it had about 14 tracks worth listening to. Listened to it a bit more and now realised its only got about 4 stand out tracks. Its just so fucking dull. You cant argue the guys are individually talented and they are capable of moments of brilliance but its too few and far between. It'll still sell by the bucketload though..........

Got it today! After 1 listen I love it! It sounds like a mix of all the records since BSSM... well except for One Hot Minute which the band has tried to distance themselves from (I dunno why, I liked it). There is some funk, some ballads, straight up rock, a much better album than By the Way. I'd put it on par with BSSM and Californication.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
