happy to hear another matt mays fan on the board ATY! i've seen them close to 30-40 times and they always rock!
the latest album was released in march of 2005, but the debut was released a couple of years ago.
  • also, may i ask how you heard of them in ohio, ATY? just curious...
  • My 3 favs of 2005

1 - Music for crocodiles by "Susheela Raman"
2 - Frances the mute by "The Mars Volta"
3 - Mighty rearanger by "Robert Plant and The Mighty Sensation"
  • the album that i was most pleased/shocked about was the new rolling stones record. a bigger bang

i've been a stones fan for years and this told me that i should continue being

for anyone who doesn't have it yet i would seriously make the effort to at least try to give it a listen. borrow it or buy it. i went in listening, expecting a bad feeling, and came out absolutely blown away. shocked the hell out of me.

too bad about their ticket prices though :(

    1. Z - My Morning Jacket : By Faaaar, this album blew me away and changed my life, it renewed my fate in today's music and musicians!

    2. Antics - Interpol : Never heard such an elegant rocking album.

    3. Out Of Exile - Audioslave : Harbors some true classics in it, what a powerful rocking record, finally RATM and Soundgarden merged!

(ooh ooh... just saw it on the post above, "I'm wide awake and it's morning - bright eyes", honour mention to them, and to Spoon for Gimme Fiction, and to Franz Ferdinand on their last too, not top three only because I just got them, they need to warm up a bit more into me, but they're getting there.)
  • My Favorite

    1. Ryan Adams- Cold Roses
    2. Sufjan Stevens- Illinois
    3. Sleater-Kinney- The Woods

Devils and Dust stands out for me, one of Springsteens best.

    Bloc Party and Editors too.
