I can't get enough of Wolfmother. I have been listening to them everyday for a week now. Great album, rocking riffs and dirges and the singer has an electric voice. Did they open for Fiona Apple? Was it just the three of them
    on stage?
My favorite songs so far: Woman, Colossal, Joker and the thief, Vagabond and
White Unicorn. You are a lucky man to have seen them so early on their tour.
They will open for Pearl Jam in Belgium and the Netherlands. Wow! what a show. I wonder if they'll hook up with pj again in the fall in Australia.

Wolfmother will be performing on Dave Letterman this Friday June 9,2006. (info from their website)
The Frank Frazetta artwork on the album is stunning.

  • I just saw them in Philly also. Couldn't believe how good they sounded live and I can't get enough of the album.

And to think I almost didn't buy tickets because I had just seen Tool and PJ the two weeks prior. Very glad that I did go. Probably the last time they are ever going to play a venue as small as the TLA in Philly.
  • Halffulof...

did you get the signed copy of the album? they were selling it as you entered the area by the concessions....

    pretty cool....

the show was nuts.... a lot of energy and they sounded awesome.....

what do you think - that place holds 700-1,000? it was filled to the brim...

it was cool to see them in such a small venue

  • Pearl Jam and Wolfmother
were released in american on the same day.

There is only 24 hours in a day, and 7 days in a week.
So for the first week, it was very hard to decide how many times I would listen to each album.

I think pearl jam was about 15
    Wolfmother about 12

    Wolfmother are just that good.

Ive told all my friends, that this is the only band that has come out in my lifetime, that has a chance of having a Led Zepplin type of of status. Only time will tell.

Nah, I didn't pick up the signed copy of the album. Probably should have as I think it was only $15. I'm guessing the TLA holds around 1,000. It was really packed by time they took the stage. I moved up to about 5-6 rows from the stage after the first band (whoever they were they were terrible) so that was really cool.

I hope they don't play Woman on Letterman tonight. It's the only songs I've heard on the radio thus far. It's an ok song but definitely not anywhere near the best on the album. Here's for a little White Unicorn.

By the way, how fried did the bass player/keyboard player look. He was hilarious to watch.
  • Wolfmother are brilliant!!!!

AND they're supporting PJ in Spain this summer!

    Yeaaaah, this is sweeeeet

I'm gonna see 'em twice in two months then
    1. -> Rock Werchter in Belgium
    2. -> Opening for PJ

They really bring back the oldschool vibe, with influence from zeppelin and uriah heep and all of those 60's - 70's rock legends

San Diego 06.....Do I want some more? I said FUCK YEAH!!!!
  • i got lucky two days ago and not only won tickets to see wolfmother at canes (san diego), but also saw them with 30 people at a on-air studio preshow performance earlier that day. they are very unpretentious, funny, cool aussies. i told the bass/keyboard player that it was amazing they were going to be opening for PJ in Belguim... his eyes lit up and he said, "wow, that's coming up isn't it!" they played 'woman', 'apple tree' and 'where eagles have been' at the preshow, woman with an punk-speed extendo jam. in between he played a brief snippet of the beatles 'dig a pony' ... these guys will absolutely KILL when they decide to play a cover or two, people will freak out they sound so good.

only hope they don't blow up so big so early that they flame out, but they could be huge. i played 'dimension' on a pirate radio show i co-hosted tonight but i'm sure the white stripes homage 'apple tree' will be the next radio hit.

In Australia there 2nd single was Minds Eye, well it was kind of there first, Woman was there EP before they were massive. Commercial radio have just started putting Woman on high rotation is Oz now because now it has a film clip, made to crack into the US market. But the indy (Triple J radio) audience has been on the Wolfmother bandwagon for a couple of years now. But it's great to see them do well around the world, 3 little Aussie battlers makin' it big, it's great to see.

My advice to everyone is to go see them now before they get to massive and the hike up there ticket prices and sell out shows on minutes like they do now in Australia.

Wolfmother sounds like some weird musical threesome of Rush/Billy Squier/Cold Play. Their singer's balls need to drop so he can finally sing like a man.

i saw them last november (3 times in 4 days) at the metro and roxy in sydney(both hold < 1000) and they did indeed rock both joints. and were very ably supported by the mess hall.
i think the only move andrew didn't pull out was surfing the crowd on his back whilst still playing his guitar. but everything else was there.
