Did anyone catch who the band was at 8:00 Wednesday night on MTV? I just caught the last 5 minutes. The lead singer had some fuckin super bushy hair.
I caught a flash of flash of your smile through the fog of a dream, I'll have a hell of a time I clearly see, I can't be by your side, see you when I sleep.

i actually thought it was really good. I'm shocked and amazed that MTV has realized that rock bands exist again. Some fuck nut must have discovered gold... Amazing huh?

Oh indeed. I actually think it may have been the poorly produced Live 8 showings that could have given them somewhat of a reality check..maybe there is still some hope for them.

  • i've always really hated coheed and cambria. the singer just annoys the hell out of me. it's those whiney emo vocals that really disgust me. i don't know, coheed can be interesting though. they're more of like a progressive-rock emo band

It's progressive and it's all one story as well. They're working on making 5 albums into one story. They have three of them done, II, III, and IV, so he has the final one and the first one to do and then this whole story will be complete. There's also comic books that they put out with them and supposedly Claudio wants to write the whole thing into a graphic novel once the albums are done. They're like the comic book geek of the future! However I've been to five of their shows mainly because I love the guitar work they do. They really can put on a great live show.

still shit... but not nearly as shitty as it could be.

MTV hasn't come around, it's watchers have just switched over to a more rock oriented pop music crowd. MTV switches to make a buck.

I had to bring this thread to the front (it was the absolute end of the list) just because it's so odd to think back and recall a time when MTV actually had music on. I haven't even considered watching that channel probably since this thread was first started.
  • I'm loving the MTV Classic channel, especially watching all those old Real Worlds.

I was surprised that they chose to focus on the 90s for their programming of MTV classic. I thought they would show actual videos from the golden era of the 80s.

Yup. That's what I was hoping for. When the 90's hit I was already turning off MTV. VH1 Classic was better than this MTV classic switch.

Well, I've seen a ton of Debbie Gibson videos on there so that qualifies as the 80's.
