Yeah, " the pretender " is a great song. i like it alot. Haven't been real crazy about the foo fighters albums on the whole (the first album was kick ass) and then they had several great singles. "In your Honor" isn't that bad. Not sure why it gets so much hatred here. I actually enjoyed both discs. However, the Foo fighters live is epic, seen them twice, and for what I feel is missing recording wise, they make up for it live. Can't wait to see them this tour, but with the way things have been going concert tour wise, Texas is probably gonna get fucked.

In Your Honour isn't hated in my house. I know what you mean about the live thing. They really put on an awesome show. I think a lot has to do with how Dave really tries to inculde the audience, but also the jams and the things that people may miss on the album like how Dave, Nate, Taylor and Chris are exceptional/wonderful/fantastic musicians and a live performance lets them branch out a bit more.

What's with all the hate regarding In Your Honor? Sure, it's a bit inconsistent and there are definitely 3 or 4 duds on there, but overall I thought it was an excellent album.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

New album will please old fans as well as fans wanting them to explore new territory.
  • i only like the foo fighters first 3 albums. and maybe a few songs from the "in your honor" is it called?

  • Thanks to songs like Long Road to Ruin, The Pretender, Come Alive, Wake up Boys your makeup is running, The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners and Statues, this is the best Foo Fighters album since the Colour and The Shape

Come Alive is an amazing song, just heard it recently. Good vibes coming from this album. Saw Foos for the first time at the LA Invasion. If this is just a taste of a full show, can't wait. The only group who could make the fickle LA crowd really rock!! Dave is so cool and funny, running all over the audience tipping beer cups everywhere!!!

nope. this album is not very good. i used to be a big fan and have lost interest with each album and this one is the worst so far.

Have you listened to it more than once? Its not as "easy" as their earlier records, but it is light years ahead in quality compared to their last two CDs.

Statues and Long Road to Ruin rank among their very best

    I got it last night.

Didnt listen to all the songs, mostly just the intro's... but so far im pretty disappointed, unfortunately.
There's too much acoustic on it for my liking, and one song sounds like Razor played a little different.

that's exactly what i thought about their one by one album... from thereon i couldn't listen to them anymore.

i'm okay with it though.... there still are a whole lot of other bands making great music.

  • i didn't realize how many PJ fans really dont like the foos that much. i still think they're real good.

I listened to 'Everlong' from the Skin and Bones album and my god it was really good. I never knew it was an acoustic album, i'm gonna have to get this. I never bothered with the foos after their 3rd album (The first is still my fav)

You should listen to more than just the intros before judging

The Colour and the Shape is one of my favorite albums of all time. I really hope this new one is good. I love the first single.
Who cares if the world is going down the toilet? Eddie Vedder got his mojo back!
