Ahh, the wonderful world of post rock!

I def enjoy Explosions but if you're in to them i'd reccomend checking out some other bands like Mono and Caspian.

    Similar but different enough.

Back to EITS, i had heard a lot of "average" reviews o the new record, but when i finally spun it this week I was pleasently suprised with the growth from the last records
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

6-7 songs. New and a few classics. About 1:10-1:25 length.

    Several loud explosions of noise!

Seen these guys 7 times and each one was a treat. I'm not catching this tour but.....I am seeing Do Make Say Think on sat!! (go me)

As Gardenparty said up there, Mono (Japanese band) are not only super slick composers with super long songs that send your brain into orgasm, they are huge vinyl supporters and are always touring. Strong melodies, excellent patterns, super progressive rock tones, plenty of violins, pianos, and ridiculous build ups with the guitars and drums to the point of pretty much becoming an explosion in the sky. I'm still talking about Mono, of course. Can't wait to see em one day.

Explosions in the Sky are also superb. A buddy of mine, whom I got into vinyl, put me on EITS a couple years back. Brilliant stuff.

Funny Dave... I saw them pretty much open up Virgin Music Fest in '07. At this point I had no idea who they were and have only ever been to a handful of concerts in my life, and definitely never a festival. I remember being really impressed with them.

Pumpkins played that night I believe.... Or they might have been the next year there. I think The Police were actually the first night that year now that I think about it.

MONO are great, their most recent double album has been on heavy rotation in my house. Seen them a couple times and they just announced a Toronto show yesterday that I'll definitely be at.

Explosions are awesome! The Earth is a cold dead place and All of a susdden I miss everyone are their best IMO

Live they are crazy loud, crazy awesome. Fun to watch them jam, and play drums. A great rock show period.

They usually play 9 or 10 songs, but it seems like more as some songs are pretty long. The like to flow stuff together as well.

A must see at least once live Enjoy the fuck out of it
