Chris Cornell once knocked at my door, asked if he could use the toilet, did a huge stinking doogun and ran out without flushing the chain, laughing and shouting Carry On.

One time a guy made a Cornell thread on the Pearl Jam message board. That was crazy!
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

Are you sure the, "huge stinking doogun" he left in your toilet wasn't the "Carry On" album itself, and when he left he asked you to "carry on" as if you've never heard that turd of an album?

Once upon a time Chris Cornell sold out his loyal fanbase and cancelled a show to play for a bunch of fashion nazis and suffered a huge backlash from those he screwed. The end.

The moral: Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

    Review of Boston 7/24/07 show:

Setlist (not exact order but pretty close):

    Band instrumental (??) (w/out Chris)

    Let Me Drown (soundgarden)
    Outshined (soundgarden)
Show Me How to Live (audioslave)
    No Such Thing (new)
You Know My Name (soundtrack to Casino Royale)
    What You Are (audioslave)
    Rusty Cage (soundgarden)
    Wave Goodbye
Say Hello to Heaven (temple of the dog)
    Until We Fall
    Out of Exile (audioslave)

    Chris solo:

    Can't Change Me
    Billie Jean (Michael Jackson cover)
    Fell on Black Days (soundgarden)
    Like A Stone (audioslave)
Doesn't Remind Me (segue to full band) (audioslave)

    Chris and Band
    Cochise (audioslave)
    Spoonman (soundgarden)

    Be Yourself (audioslave)
    Jesus Christ Pose (soundgarden)

    Encore:
    My Wave (soundgarden)
    Seasons
    Sunshower
    Slaves and Bulldozers (soundgarden).

    comments:
venue was only 2/3 full with many empty seats in the good sections (corporate "no shows" perhaps?)

Chris's confidence in singing / voice exceeded even his previous Boston appearance.

"Say Hello to Heaven" and "Bilie Jean" were the show stoppers of the night. Cornell's command of the vocal deliveries on both were jaw-dropping. (I hope someone recorded this show!)

"Say Hello to Heaven" especially performed with shear perfection... rivaling the studio version..

Chris introduced "What You Are" & "Rusty Cage" noting "You deserve to be happy no matter who you are - here's two songs about that very thing"
Chris commented that "Out of Exile" referred to him being in a a major depression, isolated and having the birth of his child pull him out of that.

This setlist leaned more into the quieter / accoustic numbers, perhaps more than past shows?

(Can't Change Me, Billie Jean, Fell on Black Days -accoustic, Like A Stone, Seasons, Sunshower,Doesn't Remind Me)

But his band still hits hard on the classic SG numbers (My Wave / Jesus Christ Pose / Slaves)..

Its amazing that at this point in this long tour, Chris seems to be physically able to turn "on and off" both his "falsetto voice" and his "fiendish wail" *(aka "Slaves and Bulldozers") on command...without any repercussions to his voice.

Here's hoping we get some live audio or DVD released at years end to capture this chapter in his amazing comeback..!

Yes...glad to have been able to witness it in it's fine form. Now that's a singer.

Glad for your great time at the show.

Funny enough, my favorite CC story happened last night and this morning. This is 100% true...
I woke up this morning, the room stunk... I just got a new puppy about 3 weeks ago. I was going to see CC in Denver last Sat, but he ditched our city so that he could play a designer jeans show. Since then, I've not been listening to CC at all, I took his new "Carry On" disc(which I loved) out of the CD player and threw it on the floor. There were several other cd's, many pearl jam, probably some neil young, but she only hit "Carry On"
Sure enough, my puppy laid one large turd perfectly on CC's cd. I showed my girlfriend, it was too early in the morning to take a picture, and it stunk, but I really thought it was funny...
I wasn't mad at the dog at all, I should have thought of that myself

You know, you may very well be done with Cornell but you might want to follow the lead of the title of his album...you know...carry on.

    Or better yet, move on.

    Seriously.

Not kidding. I'm starting to get worried.

the show was fucking great! i was so shocked when i heard wave goodbye come on, so that was big for me. i wanted some euphoria besides cant change me or mission, and though it would not have been in my top euphoria choices, it was still something that i hadnt seen in setlists and it was some rare euphoria, so i was thrilled with wave goodbye. the falsetto in his voice was amazing too. say hello to heaven, was just ridiculous. i was hoping for that song, and got it. it really is just amazing. i thought performance wise, what you are, and out of exile were great. during his little accoustic thing, my favorite was easily like a stone. chris didn't sing one word of the last chorus. gave me chills. seasons and sunshower were perfect back to back, and jesus christ pose and slave & bulldozers just fucking kick your ass. great way to close. i was kind of hoping they'd come back out and just do one more song like black hole sun or something but all is well. great great show!!

oh, and p.s. until we fall was never played...wish it was but nahhh
