Holy Sh*T! Tickets to MSG on the floor are over $250 a pop.

yep... how they manage to sleep at night is beyond me... its a global economic meltdown and yet our most liberal music superstars are charging us the equivalent of Nicaragua's GSP to watch them play live... no thanks.. i'll watch the Raconteurs who charged me only $40 thank you very much :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

the thing that pisses me off about this is that Neil is one of those that likes to play all his newer songs and isn't crazy about playing his classics. anybody gonna pay $250 to hear his new songs, or to hear Cinnamon Girl and Heart of Gold?

Yep, that's what I paid. $250 is steep, but Neil's been an expensive ticket for awhile.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Well then, since he's been overcharging for awhile it's ok then. ;)

Seriously, I'd love to catch Neil in concert again, but no way am I going to pay that much $ to see him...hopefully, he puts on a show that makes it worth it for the people that do.
    hippiemom = goodness
  • Yeah it's a lot of money....i would love to see Uncle Neil again. haven't seen him since 1981? when I cried through the whole concert but I have too many other bills to pay and can't do it....I'm bummed because my sister got a ticket for TO.
    Peace,

  • GA tix are $75. The $250 seats are the best seated seats. For the older crowd that would rather sit I guess.
This is the first GA tour Neil's done in the US in a long time and the price for those tix seem pretty reasonable. I paid around $75 for PJ 10c tickets in Santa Barbara in 2006.

Supply and demand. If people are willing to pay, I'd rather Neil get the $ then some scalper. When he did the theater tour last year, ticket prices were the same, I made the decision to buy the cheap seats, but at least I was in the building. I'm not paying $250 this tour either, but providng the GA tickets for $75 is a great move on his part, I'm more than willing to pay that much to see him.

Seriously, if Neil made the tickets $50, the best seats would be up on ebay or stubhub for $250 anyway.

Actually, my first instinct was to think of the '91 tour as GA, but thinking about it more (not that I was there), I think that was seated. You might be right. Any veterans attend the '76 Crazy Horse tour?
I can probably say with some certainty that most of Crazy Horse's '70-'71 tour were to GA audiences, like at The Palomar Junior College gymnasium near here. But clearly Neil hasn't enjoyed that anonymity in his reputation since. So yeah it's a stretch. We are seeing something unparalleled in Neil-land, and I'm glad I'll be a part of it.

$80 for GA is pretty reasonable I would have thought... not sure why the further you go back the more expensive the tickets are but anyway. I'm buying the $100 price 2 tickets to the spectrum just because I feel like watching NY for the first time beign able to see the whole stage.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

  • better than the 450 you had to pay to see the stones from the floor at msg a couple years ago, and i think U2 also was about 250 the last time they stopped in at the garden too

We paid around double the usual cost for the concerts in London earlier this year, although it was a smaller than expected venue of only 3000 or so. I was happy to pay that price for a great seat in a great venue, rather than the going rate in a cavernous arena.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

He's played it a lot this year so far. I just can't figure out why he's been playing Mother Earth just about every show recently, and has given a one time only airing of Time Fades Away. I've Been Waiting For You disappeared from the setlists too.
