My friend is really into them, and want to get into them also. What are some good stuff that will help me get into them?

Also, what songs would be a good introduction to Ben Harper?

Hey, never heard Soullive before but in terms of Ben Harper, I think a good introductory album would be Fight for Your Mind, his strongest work IMO.

That list is by no means all of his best stuff, I love most of his material, but it should be a good place to start. I'm sure it wont take too long to get into him!

I'm going to see him in August, should be a good show as always!

I'm seeing Ben in September for the 4th time ..... he's my favourite.

I would buy Fight For Your Mind or Live From Mars first......

Not saying those are my favourites, but I think that would be best for you to "get aquainted with Ben"

If it were up to me I would buy Welcome To The Cruel World straight up until Both Sides Of The Gun.

I don't know anything about Soullive but I know much about Ben Harper....like the fact that he's an insanely talented, super soulful, super passionate blessing. Such a beautiful soul. I can't praise his music and just overall being enough. I'm going to see him in August as well. I can't wait! Everything about him shines even brighter live.

Which leads me to LIVE FROM MARS!!!! LIVE FROM MARS!! Everyone needs to own this. This is actually a great way to get you started. LIVE..FROM..MARS! Can't stress that enough.
