I've seen him probably 10 times... he is TOTALLY different every time, some times really bad, some times amazing!
I guess it depends on what he's been playing that tour, but I would NEVER pass at a chance to see him!

GO! You have the opportunity to see a living legend... I saw Bob Dylan twice and those were great shows...

If you're a Dylan fan, go see him. I'm not big on Dylan singing his own stuff, but I love when others cover his songs. I've seen him twice at shows with other bands that I wanted to see (the last time was ACL fest a few weeks back), and twice I have been really disappointed. REALLY disappointed. But that's just me. Some people I talked to in Austin thought he was really good, so it really depends on how into him you are, IMO.
  • I saw him once about two years ago. It's ok. His voice is almost gone and when he sang "Like A Rolling Stone," my heart sank.

Exactly - he sounds more like Tom Waits than Dylan anymore...

Just for the record:bob d he's still doing his never-ending-tour which he started in 1989.....

When I saw him, I expected him to totally suck. I was about 5 rows back, and it was actually REALLY good.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • i've seen him five times now.

his voice is shot but the band is great. he's pretty good about setlist variation too.

i'll keep seeing him as long as he keeps coming back.

Be prepared if you're a 'casual' fan, like me. I only know his old stuff, and Bob is obviously more interested in playing his new stuff, which I totally respect. My brother however, still moans after like 15 months, that he didn't sing 'the hits'. Dylan isn't in the nostalgia business, he may sing you 2, maybe 3 oldies, after that you better know his newer albums. But he is a legend, and can do what he likes as far as I'm concerned.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • I've been a huge Dylan fan for years, but I've walked out on a show both times I saw him, recently. I'm sure he can deliver when he wants, but I'd rather see John Martyn snoring in his wheelchair with rum down his shirt, than Dylan on an average day, at the moment. At least John even comatose would be musical.

    Kudos to him for that!

saw him in 03 and his band were awesome! his voice was gone for certain songs, but if he plays something along the lines of Hattie Carrol or Man In The Long Black Coat, then you're in for a treat! The Tom Waits thing works great on those kinda songs!

I took my 15 year old son to hear him. :)

We had fun. I wasn't surprised at his new style this time.

He played only five or six of his old songs (and of course they sounded quite different!) and the rest of the concert he played new stuff. His band is quite good. :)
