Just saw the FOOS on Sunday and I gotta saw they were great, better tan when I last saw them 2 years ago.
Great for a few reasons.
1. Dave is super cool
2. They come to PERTH (most bands LIKE GREEN DAY just gives us the finger)
3. They have great songs, which got thinking, what songs do people really love by the Foos. They seem to play alot of singles in concert but ignore some of teir earlier stuff and non-single tracks. SO, what are your five fav Foo tunes?
Here are mine.
1. Everlong
2. Exhausted
3. Enough Space
4. Hey, Johnnie Park
5. Aurora /or/ M.I.A.
I had it all once I gave it back

this is the thing that always bothered me about them.
they always seem to make a "a-sides/greatest hits" concert and then left some good tracks off.

i would love to hear more "watershed", "overdrive", "feb. stars" and "how i miss you" live.

and yes, they definitely need to mix up their sets A LOT more...make it more interesting.

I can agree with that. They rarely if ever 'wow' me but they put together some strong rock songs and are very consistent in that respect.

And I can agree with you. The Foos are one of those bands that are good for a few very solid rock songs per album, plus a very good acoustic version of one of those same songs. To me they seem like one of those bands where if you've seen them once, you don't need to see them again because the songs are pretty much by the book as they are on the album.

Yep, though I must say, they make the sweetest music videos. I love their sense of humor and it's a treat to watch a new video from them just to see what they came up with next. I wish they could've done their original idea for the Best of You video, the only one I didn't care for.

is it just me, or have the Foo Fighters' songs gotten dumber while at the same time more fun to listen to?

dave grohl was never the great lyricist, but i liked it when the songs were weirder, esp the first album. though another great example is Stacked Actors.

the 'rock' disc of the new album is a blast to listen to. the 'soft' disc has its moments. i like that they have crazyass dumb rock songs, and then throw in some reallly touching songs, like My Hero and Times Like These. dave is just a great singer. he can sing about whatever the fuck he wants and it'll make me happy.
  • i've seen them a couple of times, thought they put on a great show...top five i would say...

    1. everlong
    2. i'll stick around
    3. m.i.a.
