  • My dad says it's his favorite AC/DC album of *all time*, and he's got 'em all. That should say something.

  • I can't wait for my copy to arrive! When you order from Walmart, it says "Black Ice (Red Album)." Why is it known as "Red Album?" I Googled and Wiki'd it but didn't find an explanation. Thanks!

Well there's a "red" cover and a "blue" cover. That's probably what that means.

Ah, wasn't aware of the blue cover. For some reason it hadn't come up on the Walmart page, but now I see it. Deluxe Edition.

    Thanks JWB!

There's 3 different covers for the standard cd. red, yellow, and maybe silver??? then the deluxe edition with a hardbound cover has the blue writing

  • i listened to about 4 songs...pretty boring if you ask me. I know they do their thing, which is stay the same and some people appreciate that, and that is fine. However, it honestly gets pretty tiresome.

  • I went into it with no expectations... and upon finishing it, it's just another AC/DC album. Nothing more, nothing less. And I guess I don't really want that. I know I won't be playing it again any time soon.

Then how do you that it sounds like all other AC/DC? Your survey of "all AC/DC" consists of 2 songs. Furthermore, have you actually heard the new album to be able to compare it to your 2 songs?

would you say it's better than their last? stiff upper lip.

  • It fucking rocks. It's worth buying for "Rock N' Roll Train" alone. For those saying "It's the same old AC/DC", what did you expect? This isn't Radiohead where they are trying to reinvent themselves every album. (I'm a huge Radiohead fan, thats not a dis.) AC/DC has a formula that works and it's been the same since they started 35 years ago. Rock n' Roll needs a band like this who just turns it up and goes for it.

  • This is AC/DC's best album IMO since Back In Black. The only other album in that time period that that may come close is Razors Edge which IMO has 3 or 4 great tracks but the rest is pretty weak. This album is more than strong from start to finish, and I think BJ sounds far better on this than he did on Stiff Upper Lip.

As far as it sounding the same - it sounds like AC/DC and thats what i wanted and was expecting. Those who thought that they would change their sound at this point in their careers was kidding themselves. Frankly, I dont want them to change - they are the epitome of rock music. Not to mention they are absolutely brilliant live - Angus is one of the greatest stage performers of all time. I hope i can make it out to one of their shows this winter.

It does sound pretty similar to everything else they've put out...but after listening to it a few times it's actually a pretty solid album. My fav. song so far is "Black Ice"
