I had a fucking hell of a week. Ive been listening to a lot of Alice in Chains lately, especially unplugged. Heaven beside You in from AIC Unplugged really helped me along this week.

    alice had a way, still have i guess, of getting in your head and heart and articulating exactly how you're feeling at a particular moment. especially if you listen to them when you're down. it's good to sing along with them. i do that to try and expel my low thoughts. sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't.

    I love Alice in chains, but I do feel they are the most depressing band I've ever heard.

    the vocal duet on brother on the unplugged gig still sends makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up - its amazing.

    I'd agree with that. I swear kids these days think that bands like My Chemical Romance are depressing...what the fuck ever!! Alice in Chains will bitchslap you into your own private hell!!

    Yes, hearing Down in a hole, or some many other Alice in chains songs at the wrong moment is not something I did advice. On the other hand sometimes it helps to whallow in self pity.

    I've been getting into AIC a lot too recently. I love over now from unplugged. The DVDs great. I wish Layne was still with them.

    Never, ever, ever listen to shame in you when depressed. It is not good for your mental well-being. That's not to say I'm a screw-up but I've had some moments and AiC helped me through. That song is to be avoided when feeling particularly low I feel however.

    it's on alice in chains, tripod whatever you want to call it. i think this is my fave Alice album.
    actually when i am down, alice is the band i listen to. cause sometimes you just want to stay there.

    I know what you mean. I sometimes feel that I just have to face it. I know the song. I just didn't remember the title. I don't listen to Alice in chains that often any more and when I do I listen to Jar of flies.
    I just put it in and my girlfriend asked me to play it in the computer because she couldn't sleep to this. I asked her why and she said is was to dismal. I said that I couldn't disagree. Hahahaha. Alice isn't for the faint hearted, not that she is,but joy is not to be found here.
