Need go running tunes. Any suggestions from songs that were released during the 80s? That decade was just sooooooo gooooood. Think MTV before Real World.
Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield
Don Henley's Boys of Summer
among others. What else would you recommend? Brings back good spirited-energy moments?

I could see running to this song.
Gotta go with Heartbreaker for Benatar.
Also:
Throw in some Huey Lewis from Sports...some Billy Squier and INXS off of Kick.
And, for kicks...add in some J Geils Band.

A running song from the '80? How about I Ran by Flock of Seagulls?
Here are a few other suggestions. I could probably go on all night.
The Fixx Stand or Fall or Red Skies
Howard Jones Things Can Only Get Better
Tears for Fears Everybody Wants to Rule the World
When you see me on the street, yell out "FAVO!!!"
I've been to alot of Pearl Jam shows; So fucking what.
Summerfest 2006
"Why would they come to our concert just to boo us?" -Lisa Simpson
Sundays from 9am to noon. All eighties.
Depeche Mode- Blaspemous Rumors
Motley Crue- Shout at the Devil
Tears For Fears- Shout (I can never get this song out of my head)
Thanks for the suggestions, all. Brings back memories, and possibly will create memories.
The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird
maybe a little Billy Idol....possibly White Wedding or Flesh for Fantasy
Billy Squier is a great call too as mentioned above...My Kinda Lover or Everybody Wants You
Hall and Oates....I Can't Go for That (No Can Do) or Maneater...
the list can go on and on....80's music kicks ass...
catalog:
"Pretty Persuation"
"Life And How To Live It"
"Begin The Begin"
"Get Up"
"Pop Song 89"
"Strange"
"Turn You Inside Out"
Just to name a few.
To run? I like Joy Division a lot, but seriously their music is more appropriate for running straight to your suicide . Besides, they merely made it through 1980
Hmmm, 80's music: Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi, Pretty in Pink - Psichodelic Furs, Journey - Don't Stop Believing, B-52's - My Own Private Idaho...
Ahh the memories, so many lousy songs I danced as a teenager
Summerfest 2006

actually, it's my favorite 80's album and in my top ten of all time.
'Knockin' me out with those American thighs
Taking more than her share
Had me fighting for air
She told me to come but I was already there'
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
Agreed! I am going to throw in there.....The Go-Go's-Journey-Duran Duran for sure-and Hall and Oates.
i'd say b-52s!
also, don't know about 'upbeat'...but i completely loved new order and the psychedelic furs, good tempos i should think for running......really so much of the 80s would be great for that.
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
In my opinion and musically speaking, this is the worst decade ever...it´s ok if you like bizarre things, but it really sucked.I mean, there were cool bands, but their were the less.
Icehouse - "Crazy"
Dead or Alive - "You Spin Me Round"
Loverboy - there are many possibilities. I suggest "Turn Me Loose" or "The Kid Is Hot Tonite."
And then you have loads of hair metal to choose from.
