The other day I was watching "Live... with Jools Holland" and I happened to catch this band perform. Chan Marshall, the singer, has an incredible voice. I was hooked at once!

So I started checking out her discography and what do I find out? Eddie's collaborated on some of her tracks from the album "You Are Free". They're called "Good Woman" and "Evolution" ;) .

I really enjoy her latest album "The Greatest"--check out her live performances in youtube:

Tell me what you guys/gals think about this lady and her band.

  • She's great. A little more laid back than my other favorite females, Fiona and Regina, but she is great. "Good Woman" with Eddie is a great song.

    I enjoy her stuff.

The album eddie is on also has some drumming by dave grohl, but it is nothing special (her music does not really call for great drum fills like dave's other guest work on Queens of the stone age album)

just discovered her last week and she is one of the first artists in a long long time to find a spot in my heart

i've had 'metal heart' and 'maybe not' on repeat for days
..and you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable

Just deciding to make sure that everyone can get a chance to be exposed to this lady.

When was the last time you liked a song the first time you heard it?

    umm... well... yep...
  • "You are free" is amazing... I'd really like to get the chance to see her live, I've heard she can be pretty interesting/eccentric during her shows

1st time i saw her (at ATPLA) she was a train wreck
very meek and you couldn't hear a note

seen her 3 times this year and all have been BRILLIANT and very different
1st-theatre, with blues band backing her on the greatest, amazing performance
2nd-sm club, solo, she was awesome with the crowd, coaxed everyone to sit and chill so everyone could see and invited fans to sit around her onstage
3rd-weird venue that used to be a pool and is now drained
backed by rock band and opened for built to spill
def prefer her own show and venue with better accoustics, but great nonetheless

might see her again at the garden opening for interpol

    yes, she's that good
