    I'm not really a fan of the reworked versions that much actually. The original studio version is my favorite.

    The E Street Band version is immense, and the acoustic one that was on Tracks is also great. Not a fan of this twelve string (is that right?) version though.

    i saw the 12 string version on the VFC tour.,

    i think it opened the show ,
    it was a nice variation of the familiar studio version we all were used to.

    i have also seen the more traditional ( studio ) version as the opener,

    i enjoyed both but acknowledge that these are 2 vastly different " spins" on the same song.

    nothing new there either,
    check out the 2 different " Long Walk Home " versions
    SSB version and Magic ESB Version .

    i like the bullet mic version he did on the Devils & Dust tour. no guitar, just harmonica, bullet mic and his stomping foot.

    bruce played the star spangled banner acoustically on the 12 string, then segued right into BITUSA.


    i also enjoyed the bulletmic version.
    i only saw that once live.
