Live - Sofia - Songs From a Black Mountain

I'm a big LIVE fan, but The River single doesn't have me excited at all. Kinda bland, kinda radio friendly. It's a song that will be big on the stations that your mom listen to.

But I was kicking around http://www.fansoflive.com the other day and found an MP3 of a live version of song Sofia (Studio version will be on the new album)...

http://www.fansoflive.com/mp3/featured/Sofia_100105.mp3

Now THIS is what a new album should be about. This is the LIVE that we all know and love...

I hope Songs from a Black Mountain is more like this song and less like The River.

Hahaha that's what I thought the other day :)

I don't like it, and to be honest, I saw "Live" two weeks ago in Toronto and there new stuff sucked. Everything off Throwing Copper was awesome but everytime he said they were gunna play new stuff, you could almost hear the crowd groan.

I didn't like any of the new Live.

Hmmm...someone was at the Nickelback concert and doesn't want to admit it? lol...jk

I wasn't too impressed with the new songs they played either. It felt tiring them playing all this new stuff.

And I must say, the lead singer acts like a total fag on stage. Now I know its normal for them to act gay or whatever. But this isn't like Scott Weiland or David Lee Roth gay, where we know they're not actually gay and it just seems normal for them to being doing that stuff. But a few times there I felt like I was at some gay bar.

    Hahaha....you got me :o:o

I agree, he did some pretty weird stuff up there....and I don't know who else saw this, but during the one song their one guitarist just dancing and like throwing his fists around? He didn't touch his guitar during the song.

    I don't know I just wasn't that impressed.

I agree with the part about his stage antics... I always loved the band, but I've always considered him kind of an exhibitionist...

Man, I loved Throwing Copper (one of my favourite records of all time), hell even the two records that came out after it had some decent stuff on it, but they just seem to be getting worse and worse. They're playing in London in a few months time, and normally I would have leapt on tickets in a second, but I'm currently feeling a bit indifferent. I only saw them live once, but he is quite an annoying frontman, you were just praying for him to shut the hell up and sing something good.

This reminds me of a funny Vedder quote, from some festival where Live were playing too, he said something like "I hear there's another band playing and their singer is called Ed too, I hear I give better Ed though."!!!!!!!!!!

Check http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/live/artist.jhtml for an acoustic performance done by Ed Kowalczyk of Live at VH1.

    Songs:
    1. Heaven
    2. The River
    3. Mystery
    4. Lightning Crashes
I like driving backwards in the fog, 'cause it doesn't remind of anything...
