Listen to the Four Forsemen on Kill Em All at about the 3:40 mark, then listen to Dani California..Am I crazy or do they sound similar?

    You crazy man, you crazy.
  • Actually, I've been saying since day one that Metallica is among the many bands that RHCP borrows from on the new album...not necessarily a section on Dani California though...but several times throughout the album the effect from the lead guitar sounds eerily similar to Hammet's work in the mid-late 80's.

Given the amount of bands whose sounds are represented on the album and the amount of songs that bare overt, striking resemblance to others...I still maintain that this was done as an homage to those bands, not as a ripoff. It's like a cover, but still original in other senses. I think RHCP are getting the short end of the stick on this one.

Oh Oh. Metallica is the wrong band to do this with. If there is anything even close to metallica, they will be suing.
I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

I can definitely hear the similarities. Maybe we're both crazy.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

LOL, I guess that's true. But in this case Rick Rubin can keep Lars calm.

sorry, I'm gonna have to agree with the general consensus.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
