Lets say Pearl jam will do a huge tour in 09. Lets say that they will do PAY PER VEIW for all the shows.....would you order any? Now I know this would never, ever happen, but if it did would you order any show? I think I would not shows I was going to....but BOSTON or the GORGE shows like that I would do.

somebody suggested after the last tour that they do a "boot DVD" for each show.
fuck, they could put a camera on a tripod all alone and tape that shit no prob. !!

i know i would buy a few from each tour.

Can you imaging all the bitching?

"I can't believe they shot 4 continuous seconds of Boom"

"It looks like Ed is lip syncing"

"How come they never show Matt?"

But it would be pretty cool.

I would pay, but not sure the diehards like us would be enough to make it profitable - I always thought it would be neat to do huge events (like MSG) at the local movie theater, but again, probably would just be there by myself.

you mean like the screenings of IMMAGINE??!!
We were JUST discussing this earlier. There should definitely be events like this more often!!!

I second that. Maybe not every show, but using the tour just gone as an example they could've picked a night at MSG to be broadcast at various cinemas around the world. As long as they went for smaller indie cinemas like they did for Imagine, I'm sure they'd sell them out.
    My PJ shows:

How would it not be profitable? They record them all via video now anyway. Putting each show on Itunes video or on demand through your cable wouldn't cost them anything. It would be huge profit for them.

I just think there is more to it...I think there are post production costs, I think they gotta strike a deal with Apple, they have to admin a site to do purchases, deal with our bitching, etc. I am not sure it is as simple as saying, we tape em' anyway so it costs us nothing to sell em. Anyway, what do I know.

People this kinda stuff will not happen and it would not be the least bit profitable for the band. Torrents of these dvd's would be up the same day they aired, so thousands would just download them from the illegal torrent sites. I hate to be the party pooper, but thats the truth.

In a perfect world would I pay per view them?
    Every fuckn' single one!

i they ever did this, i'm sure they would only do it for one show. maybe something special like a Seattle homecoming show, or another Gorge appearence, or MSG or Red Rocks, you know some cool venue like that.

Oh don't do the money poll thing...I'm sooo poor. I can tell you in all honesty that I would spend a million pretend dollars to see a PPV PJ show. But real actual dollars....my kids gotta eat, man.
