Okay off the top of my head.....

    1. Mars Volta -Frances the Mute
I just really like this album. Lots of other good ones out there though it was a touch choice.
    2. Jumpers- Sleater-Kinney- Some tough competition. I just keep playing this song over and over and don't get tired of it. I love it
    3. Wilco- Really hard between them and the Mars volta, but Wilco was magical when i saw them. What put them over the top is when Tweedy climbed out into the crowd to hold this little girl in his arms and sing the entire song of hummingbird to her becasue it was her favorite song and the entire crowd just went wild. He danced with her in his arms it was a really cool moment.
    4. Hmmm perhaps clap your hands and say yeah
    5. Videos? I watch them sometimes on on demand but not enought to comment. I really don't watch video's.

Album: undecided at the moment between Foo Fighters-In Your Honor, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club-Howl, and Rolling Stones-A Bigger Bang

Song:single? Hmm...Foo Fighters' DOA or Audioslave's Be Yourself..U2's singles were good too, and i love Green Day's new Jesus of Suburbia

Concert: 1. The Doors of the 21st Century @ Atlantic City
    2. The Rolling Stones(w/ Beck!) @ Hershey
    3. Velvet Revolver @ me hometown

Best New Artist: well, this is the first time the Transplants have gotten any attention but it wasnt really their first album. I dont think I like any artists whose first album was released this year.

Best Video: I often like simple videos, so U2's City of Blinding Lights and Audioslave's Be Yourself appealed to me.
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

    1. The Mars Volta- Frances the Mute
    2. Cygnus. . .Vismund Cygnus by The Mars Volta
    3. The Arcade Fire. They are as amazing a live band as I have ever seen.
    4. Bleed the Dream.
    5. Thrice- Image of the Invisible
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

    1. Sleater-Kinney - The Woods
    2. Twin Cinema - The New Pornographers
    3. The New Pornographers in St. Louis in October, though that might change when I see U2 in St. Louis on Wednesday
    4. M.I.A.
    5. Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl. I've never heard the whole song, but that video was on a lot when I was at the gym, I just think that Gwen looks really sexy. Also, I don't get MTV or VH1.

  • 1 - Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
2 - My Morning Jacket - Off The Record
    3 - Pearl Jam - 9/30/05, Atlantic City, NJ
4 - Wow, just flipped through iTunes and I didn't buy one brand new artist this year. Soooo, best new band that I discovered was Guided by Voices. I've bought 9 CD's by them since June '05
5 - Jessica Simpson - Video where she's washing the General Lee :D

  • 1 dEUS - Pocket Revolution by far the best I think.
2 Audioslave - Be Yourself or Racoon - love you more
3 Hard one, seen a lot of great concert this year like Arcade Fire, dEUS, franz ferdinand but the best one really was Kaizers orchestra - 3 october 2005 @ Tivoli Utrecht.
4 Editors - released a great album called The Back Room and they played a great gig with borrowed instruments @ the lowlands festival because easy jet forgot to fly the instruments to the netherlands.
5 System of a down - Question! I don't really like music video's that are played @mtv or other music stations but I've seen this one and I think it's really great.

Album: "Broken Social Scene" - Brocken Social Scene
Song: "The Bleeding Heart Show" - The New Pornographers
Concert: Didn't see any worth mentioning so I will turn this into "best live album" which goes to "Kicking Television" - Wilco.
New Artist: Pass, there are a ton that are new to me this year, but I don't think I bought a single new debut album this year. The best "new to me" would be Spoon.
Video: "Use It" - The New Pornographers, by default. I've only seen a small handful this year that I watched online, this was the only really interesting one that wasn't just band performances.

Album: either Bright Eyes' "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" or Death Cab for Cutie's "Plans". I still have a few weeks left to decide.

Song: umm, that's a tough one. "Landlock Blue" by Bright Eyes, "What Sarah Said" by DCFC, umm..."Entertain" by Sleater-Kinney. I honestly don't know.

Best Concert: Well, I'd probably have to say my FAVORITE concert was either Pearl Jam opening up for the Stones or Flogging Molly live in Cleveland sometime in March. That was a good one.

Best New Artist: Probably the Lawrence Arms. They aren't new in the least bit but I just got into those guys this year and I really like 'em.

1- Best Album: Strapping Young Lad - Alien
Itll probably make most people on this forums ears bleed but it is by far the best for the year IMO

2- Best Song: Opeth - The Grand Conjuration
i would have chosen a song from Alien^ but the whole album is too good to choose just one song, so this song is amazing, great balance of clean vocals and death growling in this, i love this band...

3- Best Concert: Nine Inch Nails - Melbourne, Australia ROD LAVER ARENA
Best concert ive ever been to.

    4- Best New Artist: Wolfmother
Great Aussie band that are mainstream but still have the music to be liked

5- Best Video: Opeth - The Grand Conjuration
    watch it, its creepy
